Is anyone watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and wanna talk about it?
We watch it! I am not a die-hard fan or anything, but we enjoy it.

I will say (although I am embarrassed to admit it) that David Silver is looking pretty good these days

Re: David--I KNOW, RIGHT?! And he's doing awesome at the role, I think.

Do you have any theories on what Shirley Manson's character is up to? I can't figure out what side she's on.

Loving all the scenes with John Henry.

There have only been two episodes, I think, so it won't take much to get you caught up. Are you asking to be spoiled?

I'll leave you to the spoiler sites, then.

Did anyone watch last night's mind-bender of an episode? So nuts!

I watch and love it!

I agree with David Silver looking fine. Though, I do have more of a crush on the guy playing John Connor.

I want to know what's up with Riley and the Asian gal that Reece is sleeping with.

Just so you know, fox and hulu have the episodes online. I never watch tv, I watch shows on the internet! So helpful if you miss them

Also, I want to know what's going on with Riley and the Asian girl too. It seems like it's been a long time since we've seen them.

We're watching it. It has pretty good writing. But, yeah, that last episode was a mind bender.

Did anyone notice that John Henry was playing with Bionicals when what'shername came and talked to him? I liked that.

I noticed that the music is by the same guy who does the music for Battlestar Galactica. And think about it, Terminator is about robots that turn on their makers, that also contemplate their nature and study human nature.

Oh, and Jesse (Asian gal) was on the BSG movie, Razor.

What did you guys think of this week's episode? When secret agent lady shot Riley, I was like WHOA. I guess it had to happen, but now I wonder how John will react. Cameron's "malfunctions" make her even more interesting. I missed seeing Shirley and John Henry this week, though! Oh, and that scrumptious (ex-)detective. Lots of little plot threads to manage.

Is there a tie-in with the new movie, do you know?

I think he is very hot in this ... and I remember him as david silver and did not think him all that hot back then ... but he is the reason I keep watching this show. I think his acting in the role is very good as well! I can't stand asian woman (well her character, I mean) - didn't like her character in razor either. The actress reminds me alot of Angelina Jolie.

I totally noticed this in the last epi myself! Esp Jolie's earlier work when her speaking was more fluid.

My husband got me into this show. I have not seen almost all of season one, but it has not seemed to matter. Anything that I did not understand, dh explained to me. However, I do really want to see the epi where Cameron was in the youth home ~ she is my favourite character by far! I crack up all the time watching her try to imitate human behaviour, like her trying to tell the bird not to fly into the window, lol. And her interactions w/ Riley, awesomely predatory.

We watch this show online, too, as we also don't have a tv. I cannot stand time-travel plot lines, so that part of the show often drives me mad. I have to not think about it a lot of the time. Like the epi where Derek and Jessie realized that something in the future happened to him in *Jessie's* future, but no in *Derek's* future. Like they had changed something somewhere, so the future did change, argh argh argh!!!! HATE THAT.

I am totally into Shirley Manson being on the show. I used to LOOOOOOVE Garbage when I was in high school and thought Manson was the poop. I am really into the episodes w/ a lot of terminator to human interaction, like the one where Manson's character first appeared and she had to learn how to relate to her "daughter", and all the scenes w/ John Henry. I am NOT into the weird side-store episodes like the sleep one ~ those just add too much confusion and really bring down the central story, imo.

So, the saviour of the human race and the first-created AI program are both named John, huh..?

Good catch! Those sorts of things aren't normally coincidences.

The character we've affectionately named Asian Gal is named Jesse. Jesse is played by Stephanie Jacobsen. Her lips are every bit as big as Angelina Jolie's.

Her character doesn't smile genuinely and most definitely isn't very cuddly. That would not bother me (Sarah Connor doesn't smile happily much) except she has this way of speaking so quietly, almost mumbling, that drives me up a wall. When she and Derek were talking together in the hotel room I wanted to get in her face and tell her speak up and enunciate, damn it!

What do you guys think of the latest developments? I think it was time for John Connor to act a little bit like John Connor, if that makes sense. The last episode was one of my favorites yet. The story line between Derek and Jessie was getting old anyway, and I'm glad it ended how it did. There really wasn't another way out.

the thing that i find interesting is that i have no idea what is going on :-)) like what is there goal and how close are they to it? in the movies it was always to protect john from whatever AI machine had come back to get him and stop skynet - is that still the case? so much of the past has been changed now, how does that effect the future? and how is the series going to be tied into the movie coming soon? is john henry and his "team" the start to skynet? aren't there any new AIs after John Conner? and what is going to happen to Cameron? and what is Cameron's role in the future? and why would future John Conner want what was in that box on the sub? which apparently escaped...
like i said, no idea what is going on and i'm a pretty clever gal :-)

So was I the only one completely shocked on Friday? And there were unanswered questions there.

So the finale is this week. Does that mean it is being canceled?

That's the rumor I heard, but I hope it's wrong.

I also was totally SHOCKED by last week's episode. So sad.

Count me as another one who doesn't understand what's going on. The worst thing is, I get the feeling the writers don't know what's going on, either - it feels like aimless wandering.

Is it wrong that Cameron is my favorite character? Followed closely by Weaver? I can't stand Sarah, and John Connor is one step up from a whiney mama's boy, although he seems to be growing up some lately.

But I am so looking forward to the new movie this summer. I can totally dig Christian Bale as John Connor!

At IMDb they sort of answer that question, How is Terminator 3 related to the series? It isn't. Sarah Connor Chronicles is alternative story, starting from where Terminator 2 left off. Series creator Josh Friedman says that the reason for this is that Sarah Connor is a vital component of the series. He describes SCC as an alternate timeline.

The show starts off 2 years after T2 ended. This show follows the same idea of T3 where Judgement day is invevitable. But by the end of the first episode they skip 8 years which completely irradicates Terminator 3's story.

Then, How will Terminator 4 be related to this story? Terminator 4 will follow on from Terminator 3, and so will be part of that film's continuity.

So I take that to mean that Terminator: Salvation is not related to Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I totally agree with you and th other pp about it making no sense. I thought the first season made more sense, but they seem to be ignoring that whole season, unless they decide they want to use something. Like the whole storyline about David Silver's character - where he was held hostage by the machines and we didn't know if he was actually good or bad at this point... I guess they have dropped that And they were so smart and moved around at the first sign of danger... until they move into Busy Phillips' house and decide to ignore all the warning signs. And I do like Cameron, but she has been slacking lately! Oh, and John bugs the crap out of me!

Even with all those gripes, I find it an entertaining waste of time. I don't really worry about all the holes in it while I am watching it.
