Does anything "special" need to be done to hook up an additional washer in a home that already has one, or is it 'as simple' as runing extra hose and making sure there is an additional outlet? Would it make a difference in water pressure if they both filled at the same time, or should they be alternated?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I had two in my last house. One for us and one older one for horses, dogs & muddy farm stuff. My house was designed for the two of them and you could run them at the same time.
As for pressure and water and hot water to both normally I would imagine it depends. Can you shower and run a washer? Can you run the dishwasher and washing machine? If not then you would want to talk to a plumber about how to work it out. But otherwise yes it would just be running another hose and having a plug put in on another circuit.
