tonight is roasted veggies (butternut squash, onion, celery, a few mushrooms, peppers, salted and with plenty CO) and meatloaf at my house :

tomorrow, roasted cornish hens and rice and salad

sunday baked potato, steak and sauteed cabbage and turnips

that's all i have so far.

i think part of the reason that you're not getting many answers is because your question is in some ways hard to answer hehe. what kind of foods do you guys like? also, in another thread you've expressed a desire to go TF veg and i think there are many TF omnivores on the forum and it's hard to think in veg terms sometimes.

if i were going shopping, i'd get lots of veggies and greens, definitely potatoes, eggs, milk, and chicken since i don't have any left in the freezer.

HTH and welcome to the forum!

what's the pee test?

Kerry Ann has a sample menu mailer that might help http://www.cookingtf.com/mailer.html

I want to know what the beet pee test is, too.

Tonight we're having rice, ginger sesame pork and stir-fried greens w/ onions.

Some non-dairy, non-meat stuff I buy nearly every time I do a major shopping:
potatoes
onions
carrots
greens
broccoli
fruit (whatever is in season)
sprouted corn tortillas
nuts

I'd add eggs to that list if we didn't have our own chickens, and sprouted wheat bread during times when I'm out of sprouted flour to make my own at home.

sprouted?

If beets turn your pee pink then your stomach acid is too low, I believe.

I'd get lots of leafy greens, too. And quinoa.

Sprouted corn tortillas. Food for Life is the brand name. They keep them in the freezer case in my HFS.

I must not be eating them right then...

Hmm. Not sure I buy that about the beets. I mean, maybe faulty digestion would make it more likely to happen, but I somehow doubt pink pee after eating beets always indicates a problem. I just googled it, looks like a lot of other factors involved than just stomach acid. I remember having peach-colored pee once after eating a lot of beets, but it doesn't usually happen. Anyway...

Sprouted - yes, sprouted grains, as in wheat or spelt (for example) that are barely sprouted, then dehydrated and ground into flour, or like the corn in those tortillas I mentioned and KerryAnn gave the specifics on. Sprouting increases vitamin content and also makes the minerals more available by neutralizing phytic acid, similar to what happens when grains (flour or not) are soaked in an acidic medium (although soaking only accomplishes the phytic acid neutralization, not the vitamin increase).
