2 yr old prescribed Singulair......anyone use this with their toddler?

My ds was given some singulair to try for his constant cough.....its a little chewable tablet to give once a day........I read online that last year it was recalled or warned about depressive behavior and suicidal thoughts. My Dr. has said it is a very gentle medicine and kids handle it great......but now I'm nervous after what I read.......obviously a 2 yr old couldn't kill himself but I don't want his mood to change.........anyone use the medicine with their toddler?

Yes and I'd probably try other options first. There was a thread about this not long ago.

My 3 year old has been on Singulair for about a year. It has helped with his night-time coughing a lot. We haven't noticed any side effects.

DD has been on it since about 2yo she is 8 now. without it her asthma takes over. I have seen no issues with her on it.

My DS turned mean, biting his preschool teacher, when we tried singulair.
