March IUI - Page 2

Hi! I just found out today that we will be proceding to IUI. I am currently in the 2WW of a clomid/intercourse cycle. I'm actually 8 dpo, so if/when I get my next cycle (should be this weekend) we will be starting with our first IUI cycle. Honestly I never thought it would get to this, but was diagnosed today with secondary unexplained infertility and my RE said this was the next step in the process.

Anyway- thanks for letting me join!

Way weird. My progesterone was 9.5. I guess I did ovulate. But my progesterone was never been under 20.. But the fact my bbs never hurt after O, secondary to the AP, i believe, makes me think its o.k. Except he wants me on progesterone supps.: Started them just a minute ago. joy.

by-the-lake- That is weird. Maybe it was because you only had one follicle??

Perhaps

Good luck everyone! Here's to lots of December babies!

I am waiting to O but not sure yet if I'll have an IUI this cycle or not. It depends on my appt tomorrow. I've not taken any serophene this cycle (per dr's instructions so she can better see what's going on with my cervix and if it was the serophene causing the problem) so we'll see tomorrow if there are any follicles.

THank you!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have not posted in a few days. Today is 4DPO and so far so good. I am not going nutty yet.... but in the past the insanity usually does not start kickin' in until about 10DPO. I had a great acupuncture appointment yesterday to help assist with implantatation. He said that this treatment really helps with blood flow to the uterus and keeps my body in balance. I really believe it....b/c I felt so great afterwards ( like I was floating). Not my normal anxious self during the 2WW. Either way, anything that helps keep the stress hormomes down is a good thing.

Has anyone else had very vivid and wild dreams while on the progesterone supplements? I started the capsules last night versus the waxy suppositoires and they are so much cleaner. The weird thing is my BB's have doubled in size since I started the progesterone! Wow, that kicks in fast. I am not even sure if I need these things since we never really checked my progesterone levels, but my RE says it is a good idea at my age (39) and when using injectables. Any thoughts?

Anyway...baby dust to all of you!!: This 2WW is my least favorite part. I would rather stick a thousand needles in my behind than have to wait for a result!! hee hee

Tami1981: Make sure you find an acupuncturist who specializes in infertility. There are a lot of acupuncturist who do not know about the specifics of our reproductive system. My person only works with couples who are TTC. I have read much reserach that these treatments can increase your IVF/IUI success by up to 20%. I didn't believe it either...until I read many many success stories online and in books.

Um does anyone know why we call it march iui instead of march iui/ivf???

Can I just change it?

Laci--thats a good idea!! I will be doing IVF in March/April. I think I will be the only one doing IVF. It looks like all of them graduated.

Oh Laci gl on the beta tomorrow. Cramps sometimes mean preggos.

mommielove- Wow, I feel the floaty feeling too. I love AP. I'm on progesterone too This means I have to POAS (which I hate) because the progesterone delays AF.

Laci- GL with the beta. I am super crampy too, 7DPO.

Pixielou- Welcome to whatever thread you want Hope your stay is short, though.

Needle in the Hay- Hope your appointment goes well. Hoping for a cooperative cervix!

AFM- 7DPO, crampy. Thats all.

Well here I am at 2dpiui and analyzing every little twinge even though I know how early it is. My nipple sensitivity just amped up tonight and will only get worse as per usual. It's nothing I can read much into because my last Clomid cycle made my nipples feel like they were on fire but I ended up with AF anyway. I find my focus at work really slipping as babies dance in my head.

Started spotting tonight, so tomorrow will be day 1. Funny thing is, I thought my beta was scheduled for today but it's actually tomorrow. So I will go in for a test while having my period. Sweet. But it's too late to call the office to see if I still really have to go, and if I do really have to go I don't just want to skip it (it's at 6:30 tomorrow morning, so I can't even call in the morning before the test) in case they really need the results before they let me start the follistim. Annoying. So beta tomorrow, and follistim the next day. How bizarre.

Pixie- Welcome!

Laci- Thinking of you today! I am fine with joining the two threads, but am not sure if the IVF girls would be.

daisy- That is annoying! Sorry you have to go.

Ack!

I've been lurking for awhile...used to post and then was SO frustrated, that I just kept reading and not commenting. I've done 8 months of Clomid, 3 IUI's, 5 timing bd, and now I'm taking Femara. Anyone else taking this?

I missed my IUI because I O'd 2 days earlier than my ultrasound was scheduled for...anyone have early O with Femara? So, natural it was...now 2dpo and waiting, waiting, waiting....

Hope your 2 weeks are short and filled with lots of fun!

merging ivf & iui threads

I am willing to start a new ivf thread, if anyone is interested. I know of at least 2 and perhaps more that are looking at a March/April timeline. It's not a problem with me if they are merged, but honestly, I may visit less often. ivf tends to take at least two months (sometimes more), so it's always a little frustrating for me to see people continue moving forward with try after try after try when it takes ssssoooo long for me to have one opportunity. This is likely just a personal issue :, so I'll leave it up to wtg and whomever else is considering ivf.
