Has anyone not had hardly any contractions, then bam, they're there and labor begins quickly? - Page 2

Yep, that's how my past two have been. I had a leak with Helena and went to the hospital thinking they would just send me home, but they kept me. I was afraid they would try to induce since I wasn't having contractions. I managed to dilate to 5cm after barely feeling anything. Once labor/contractions actually hit me it was maybe two hours before I pushed twice and she was out.

Thanks to all the ladies who contributed to this thread.. it really is comforting.. with my DD I have painful contractions for a good two weeks before she came, this time, nothing thus far and 3 days past EDD.. Feels like baby has absolutely zero plans on moving out any time soon... but perhaps it could be tonite. (Oh how I wish..)

With my daughter I felt nothing, not even Braxton Hicks. On my EDD I walked to the hospital and back for my NST and still nothing. 9:30 that night i got off the phone with my mom and contractions started. They were 5 mins apart from the start and I had her at 2:13 am. Not bad for a first time mom. I just hope this one goes the same way, except it could go before my EDD.

But with my first I was in week 39, nothing indicated the whole day I would go into labor. I actually went to work like normal, came home and was watching TV. American Idol just got over I was sitting on my birthing ball (so much more comfy than the couch that far along!) and felt a tear. Went to the bathroom and my heart starts to race with excitement to see yup, water broke. Almost immediatly contractions started fairly strong. Had my daughter less than 3 hours later.
