Crochet is curling

I tried to do a search but didn't find what I was looking for so forgive me if this has been asked many times before.
I'm trying to crochet a purse. Anyhow, It's curling as I go along. I'm only a few chains in and the whole thing is starting to spiral. It's not just SC st, it's a little more complicated then that.
Here's the pattern:

Help please! I don't want to do anymore without fixing it.

TIA!!

sometimes at the beginning mine does that too, but as I work it straightens out. Just be sure you're getting gauge and not crocheting too tight. Also, when you crochet into the back or front loop only of a crochet stitch, it makes it want to fold over, so that could be contributing to the spiraling. After you're done, if it's still looking a little weird blocking should take care of it.

I'm only a very novice crocheter, but I'm sure I remember hearing somewhere that if you put the yarn around the hook (hook around the yarn?) in the wrong direction it will spiral. Can anyone confirm?

You are only a few rows in or a few stitches in? It's lined, so unless you are messing up in your crochet and making it "unsquare" by skipping either the first or last stitch, it won't matter if it's curling up now.

My projects always curl for the first few rows. I'd keep going and see if it works itself out as the project gets heavier.

Thank you everyone. I was the first four rows in. I think it was just b/c of the many diff. type of stitching this project has going on. BL, Sk st, Fpdc etc. I decided to just keep going and the very next row it uncurled a little bit. So I think y'all are right, it's just how it is, and hopefully it will completely uncurl once I get even further down. If not I'll block it maybe, or hopefully the lining will help.
I really appreciate the help! Thanks so much.

I dunno. Because I am left-handed, I probably put the yarn around the hook in the "wrong" direction, & I don't have particular problems with spiraling. Honestly, what I have found is that there's really only one or maybe two ways I can put the yarn around the hook (or vice versa), and it doesn't typically spiral out of control.

My advice is to not worry too much about whether you are doing things the "right" way. In the end, as long as you have a fabric YOU are happy with, it doesn't matter. For the life of me, I still cannot figure out which is the "right" side and which the "wrong" side for 99% of stitches. So I've always gone with what I prefer as the "right" side...and from looking at pictures in books, it seems as if I prefer the "wrong" side. C'est la vie.
