Another reason I love my sister

My little sister (she's 23) visited a friend with a newborn boy the other day (I don't know this person FWIW). She was chatting about the babe and her friend said how she can't wait to bathe him.

Sis: "Oh right, because he still has his umbilical cord I guess?"
Her: "Yeah and we have to be careful about his penis."
Sis: quizzical pause (she told me she had NO idea what she was talking about) "Why?"
Her: "Because of his circumcision."

My sister then visited her best friend and her friend's mom. She asked, "Why would anyone do that?" and they looked at her like she was crazy. When she pressed them all they could come up with was, "if you don't their penis will smell bad."

My sister's response, "THAT is a good reason to cut part of them off???!!"

She called me to vent about how crazy they were.

FYI, she has no kids or plans to have any and we've never discussed circumcision before then.

Isn't it funny how American women assume that the foreskin is smelly when they A) most likely have never seen one and B) 85% of the world is not circumcised. That is a lot of smelly men walking around out there.

Foreskin - even restored foreskin - does have an aroma. If everything's properly washed it's mild and sweet and would probably remind you of any other genitals you had ever smelled.

There are lots of things a guy can CHOOSE to do to have an unnaturally scent-free penis.
