Well, it's all worth it

I have been on a diet without dd's (21mos) allergens for 3+ weeks now. It has been a really tough go for me because 2 days before the set elimination day I found out I was pg. I am and ovo-lacto vegetarian so it has been tough finding stuff to eat when I have to avoid dairy, wheat, egg, peanuts (not a big deal, haven't had in a long time anyway), bananas, and avocados. And in the beginning of pregnancy you know how it is, you just *need* to eat certain foods (for me it has been a big hunk of cheese) and other things totally gross you out (seems like everything I am allowed to eat).

DD's only symptom that something was bothering her was terrible sleep patterns. She woke basically every hour or two. There were a handful of times that she slept 4 hours straight and once 4.5 hours. Many, many nights I was up every hour with her. We were starting to see some improvement with the elimination but after 2 weeks she got a nasty virus (UR symptoms, fever, rash). She regressed some on her sleeping, but not to the level we were at before. Anyway, the past 2 days her nose is totally clear, so she had finally beat that virus. Thursday night she slept pretty well and yesterday she looked like a totally different kid to me. Her eyes were so bright and she just looked so healthy. Last night she went to bed a little after 8 and woke sometime between 11 and 1 (I can't remember) and didn't wake again until 5:30 :::::::::: ::::: Even nights in the past when she has had 1 longer stretch of sleep the rest of the night was back to the same old, same old of up at least every 2 hours. She had 2 long stretches of sleep last night! And even at 5:30 she nursed right back to sleep and got up for good at 7. Her sleep seems to be so much more restful and sound. It is all like a dream come true.

So, while I am suffering terribly with my diet now and thinking of nothing but cheese it is all worth it to see my little girl get a good night of sleep and look so healthy
