Brin, you have so good with words. I was debating what exactly to say to maria, but you said it perfectly!!! So : to all that Brin said!

Thank you, Brin and Shwarma and Minsca! You are totally right and I know I should worry less... it's just a matter of putting that into practice!

I really am feeling like I am in charge of this pregnancy - I just wish I could prescribe my own tests! haha... Really I'd like to avoid tests in general, I just feel at the same time I need some normal results to have peace of mind. Maybe with #2 I'll be fine, knowing #1 went well!

I do want to keep a good relationship with the OB bc I am 100% happy with him for gyn care and would trust him for compassionate and conservative m/c care - and even for a natural delivery. But he is one of 6 in his practice and I don't trust them all, so that's the issue using them for OB care (not to mention the hospital setting). So anyway, I do need to be careful with how I communicate with this doctor (and staff) to maintain a good relationship.

I will try to chill out and be calm and hope that this pregnancy continues uneventfully til the end!

Thanks for your support, mamas - as always!

Hi Everyone!!
I haven't had a chance to read all the posts yet but wanted to say Hi!
I just got my BFP today and so it is still sinking in. It would explain my uncontrolled hunger the last few days. I can't seem to bring enough food to work to make it through. Starving! Plus still a bit crampy and getting bloated.
I've had a bit of implantation bleeding for a few days but seems to be on it's way out now. I guess due date wise, looks like Nov. 23rd.
I'm not feeling very Zen right now. I guess because the more I read up on things the more nervous I get. I guess the implantation bleeding really threw me off because I didn't have that last pg.
Anyway practiced my yoga this morning and trying toremember to slow down and breathe!!

Got good test results!

Yippee!! I'm so happy!! The doc's office called just now and my 26 DPO test results are (drumroll....):

Beta HcG - 17,775
Serum Progesterone - 23.4

The RN said they are both normal, (and I looked them up online to confirm, they are well within normal range ). She said not to repeat Beta tomorrow since it was so high, and that there is no need for progesterone supplementation bc the level was great (I didn't even ask - she just offered that)!!!

I am SO relieved! And I'm glad I don't have to get up early to go to the lab tomorrow before work!

The RN did say that they routinely do first sono at 9-10 weeks so they have a good chance at seeing the sac and the heartbeat at the same time. I said I'd call back for an appointment... Still have to decide if I want to go for that sono or skip it and just go straight to midwife in 3 weeks. Hmm.

That's a nice high HCG level! Most likely a sticky pregnancy for sure

Thanks for the response, Talula! It's so nice to be able to share news on these forums and get support (for both good and bad news). I'm praying lots for a sticky and healthy baby - for each of us!

Those levels are great mariacm!!!

I decided to take tomorrow off of work, cause I've been feeling pretty good in the morning and I think I'm going to go pamper myself a little after I drop the kiddos off at school. I'm going to go swimming, then a brief (but wonderful) plunge in the hot tub (my MW said 10 minutes is fine). After a long shower, if I don't look too dreadful, I might even go to a coffee shop and read for a while.

I also have an update on my hair (since I don't have anything more important to say ). I had it cut quite a bit last week, and had the color redone. It's now a short bob, and it's dark brown. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, but I just don't like it. I don't want brown hair anymore, my natural color is a pretty light mousey brown, and I just don't feel normal with the dark color right now. I tried to get my hairdresser to color it back to my natural color, but it is far from it. Anyway, I've decided to cut all of it off as soon as I have more than an inch. Am I being too dramatic? Is it the hormones? I've had short hair many times before, but am I crazy? Help!!! It's hard to make these kinds of decisions in pregnancy and DH just doesn't understand. Also, thanks for putting up with the rather superficial side of me for a moment.

Hey Brin. You know, I say that hair will always grow back. And - are you gonna hate it worse than you already do?? Just go for it!

maria - : Your levels are great! Hope you can relax and enjoy now with the confidence that everything is progressing well!

brin - Maybe it is the hormones. I always want my hair short during pregnancy, and I highlight it when I'm TTC because I know I'm going to want it done once I'm pg. Who are we to argue with pregnancy hormones? When we're hungry, we eat. When we're tired, we sleep. So if we have the urge to do something dramatic with our hair, we should do it! You can totally blame it on the hormones. And enjoy your day of pampering yourself. It sounds wonderful!

So I'm not stressing, but I am a little anxious. I'm feeling like I have so much to start thinking about and deciding and it's a little overwhelming. Mainly I just want to get my prenatal care figured out and then I can settle in and enjoy or let the M/S roll in. Either way I'll feel better to get this underway.

So right now I just saw on the webpage of the one MW I was checking out, that they do not bill either my inurance nor my husbands. So we will certainly be paying out of pocket there. BUT, I don't know what the fee is either yet, so maybe there is still hope. There is one other midwife I want to call and sitting here frustrated because it is Saturday and want to get this going NOW! I know I need patience and that a few days shouldn't matter. But I was reading some threads in HM about call your MW the minute you POAS to make sure you get in. So I'm a little nuts right now and really need to just let it go. But I'm an information collector and just a little obsessed.

Hi beebalmmama! I totally remember feeling anxious about all the little details. Finding a mw can be hard, but if you have some recommendations from friends, that can make all the difference. When we were looking for a homebirth mw with DS2, the decision was more or less made for us, because our mw was/is one of the only ones that will do a first time VBAC. Plus, we knew 4 or 5 other people who had used her and just loved her. This time, I just called her when I found out so I could get on her list for October. I think it's only true for a few midwives that you have to call them as soon as you POAS to get in with them. You ought to be able to interview a few to see which ones you like best before committing to one. Good luck with it!

AFM: I had a wonderful 3 day weekend, since I took Friday off! I recommend it to everyone. I went on a hike in the AM with DH, and then had an Italian Soda at my favorite coffee shop and bought some flowy linen pants with lots of elastic in the waste at a cute little boutique. We had fabulous weather here in SLC, UT over the weekend, so we went on a few hikes all together. It was 74 on Saturday, and today it's snowing. Booooo!

How was everyone else's weekend? I hope you are all doing well this week!
