We used to use Irish Spring, and when a bar would reach the end of its life, we'd just smoosh it together with the new one.
I now make all of our bar soap. It's the most basic of soaps... lard and lye and water. We love the soap as it has cleared up many skin issues. The problem is that it is quite hard and when it gets thin, it crumbles. I've grated and made liquid soap from it, but now we just have more liquid soap than I can store. Is there anything else you can do with this very fragile soap? I don't make it strong enough to do laundry, btw. TIA!
