I think I missed this discussion. How would it make symptoms worse? I've been having more folate recently and been feeling like crap.

But he eats that every day!

We can only hope these are healing reactions, right? Anyhow, I hope the soaked buckwheat comes out okay, and you start feeling better. Wait... didn't you take dd's remedy? Maybe you are having an aggravation?

And speaking of which - yay for your DH, Tanya!!! His reactions mean he's healing! (ours probably do too, right?)
Oh no! Poor kiddo. You're right, I did take a drop of her remedy. But I also took a higher dose of my remedy since then too, so I guess it could be either. I forgot to mention that I've been having heart palpitations since my remedy, so I think my body is freaking out with all this healing or something.

Speaking of healing and my remedy... I just noticed that my eczema is slightly flared this morning (that usually only flares when taking my remedy.) Maybe the artichokes we ate last night? hmmmm... This is really getting annoying.

Yeah, I get that too. "Wow- you really have a lot to deal with", or "your poor kid" and I'm thinking to myself- how many prescriptions have you filled for each of your kids over the past year? And mine is the unhealthy one? curious. :

My niece is constantly sick (ear infections, sinus infections, throat infections... not to mention the recently diagnosed asthma) but she's "healthy". Same with my nephew who has a peanut allergy but "no other allergies". I've been trying to get his mom (or my brother) to take him for testing for *years*. They finally did because he had issues with eating peanut butter and that's all they tested for... Did I mention on top of the ear infections, asthma etc for him, he's also on Ritalin and an antipsychotic? Yeah. But my kid has "issues".

Yeah, exactly. : Man, that poor kiddo. An antipsychotic and Ritalin? That makes me sad.

Is there supposed to be an end to supplementing to open the detox pathways? Or are you supposed to be doing it forever? Just wondering...

Also, this may have been discussed before, but I wanted to mention it in case it hasn't been. There's been a lot of talk about testing for low stomach acid and ways to fix it, but I haven't seen any mention of two common causes of low stomach acid--foods that cause low stomach acid, & hiatal hernias. I've had reflux related to both, and I can tell you that all the remedies in the world to fix low stomach acid will not help if one of those is the cause. I took lots of Betaine HCL with meals for months and months, and ate fermented foods with every meal too, and my reflux did not go away until I cut out food chemicals. Specifically phenols (salicylates are phenols although it wasn't salicylates that I had problems with) in herbal infusions & things like oil of oregano. After I did that my reflux was almost completely gone in 8 days. The rest went away after I saw the chiropractor and had him check for a hiatal hernia (I had one, he fixed it, no more reflux).

I don't remember it being discussed cause I don't know if any of us know except you (well, except that you just shared ).

re: supplementing for detox pathways, I don't know. Some stuff like folate, if you can't eat enough, then it seems permanent. I think my daughter's always going to need supplemental magnesium (not sure if it's a detox pathway thing with her, or maybe just general purposes). I think at some point, once we're each caught up, then we figure out what our ongoing need is, vs our ongoing + catch-up need has been.

Hey, I forgot, is there a thread just discussing stomach acid? I don't remember if whoMe's obsession with starting on-topic threads got a stomach acid one started, but what you wrote above would be cool to add, so that we can add it to our collective knowledge base in an orderly, easily-searchable way.

There's my thread "Detox, HTG, HCl and candida" but otherwise no, nothing specifically on stomach acid.
We ended up not going to the city but I wasn't sure until about an hour ago (when I had to make lunch) whether or not we'd be going, so I was busy this morning doing things that often get neglected when we go to the city.
But! I am working on getting the new chat thread up now. Just skimming over things to see what's going in it.
