Just a quick post for now, will post full birth story later.. My son was born this week after a 6 hour labor (7 if you count the first hour that I slept through 
) with hypnobirth relaxation techniques and the support of a doula. He was 7 lb 12 oz and 20 inches. Giving birth was amazing, I am still trying to process it all. It was wonderful to just trust that my body knew what to do and see the results of that- part of me still cannot believe my body grew and birthed that little person!
After two days of relaxing and nursing and rooming in together, he needed to be taken to the NICU. I am staying with him, and the nursing and lactation staff here are wonderful, but it's not how I wanted things to happen. So I am still processing the wonderful natural birth followed by these less than ideal circumstances and trying to catch up on sleep/food/emotional energy- I just want to give everything I can to my son and bonding with him, but I know I need to find a way to take care of myself as well. Just wanted to let you all know he is here.. I don't have much time to get on the computer right now but hope to soon post a full birth story and share some photos of my little guy!
