Foreskin swollen, read all search threads, still have question

It is sore and red and whitish. No discharge, well only a bit of clear that looks like urine. He is urinating fine. It is sore. Tonight it has scabs on the end and it feels harder than this morning. I put rescue remedy cream this morning but read that awesome thread and put some breastmilk on it tonight. I know to watch it for another day (it's been 24 hours) and I really want to avoid our ped on this as he said before his foreskin was tight and I had to stop him from retracting once before but if he has an infection i don't want to be lax. Advice?

sounds like a possible yeast infection -could try a lil dab of monistat on his tip for i think it was 5 days -the scabs point to yeast infection to me -chafing could be the cause of the scabs do you put soap on the foreskin if so then stop

Was the retraction attemp recent? It might be from that.

Give it another day or so. How old is your son? Does he pull on his foreskin much? Is he out of diapers? If he wears diapers, does he wear cloth? It could be separation trauma or a yeast infection. If he is in diapers or has been on antibiotics a yeast infection could be likely. Cloth diapers tend to harbor yeast more easily. If not it might just be some trauma or irritation. Remember that the foreskin is very vascular (like lips) so they react easily sometimes. If he is wearing cloth then put him is sposies for now. If it doesn't clear up after a couple days you can have a culture done but I would give it some time before going that route. A culture is done by swabbing the tip (NO RETRACTION).
