Hmmm... the filter stuff is like another language to me, LOL!

These three just make me happy, but I'm afraid they're too cutsie. But I love the colors

Those are super cute! But yeah, maybe too cutesie. What if we worked some of that together? We could pull all the stuff you like out of all of them. The colors from one, the 4 block effect from the others, etc. The flower from the last set would be cute for spring, the cloud would be cute for winter... Look at all the ones you like and write down what about it you are drawn to, then we can work from there.

Sorry, filters... thats photog language for neat effects.

How about combining a couple of them. Something like overlaying the mother and baby's hands and the line of seasonal images.

I'm imagining something like this.

They are all nice, and many say "Season" and or "Joy." However, I'm not sure any of them convey what your product is about.

I would think needle felted paintings or childrens water colors. I don't suppose you kids could provide those...

Or something more natural like this one

or

I just like this one though

I'm a total airhead, but even I could tell from that logo that it has some thing to do with seasons... and it has something to do with kids. Some of the other ones make you think.... does she sell trees?

I don't think the colors are very waldorf-y (pastels, right?); but I saw you mention something about it not wanting to look washed out up thread.

First of all, you all are seriously fabulous. I can't thank you enough for helping me think through this.

: True enough. I would actually like to eventually add some older kid stuff (a recorder method and maybe some music stuff, and literature guides) so I don't want to hem myself in.

Yep, but also see above.

That made me laugh.

Waldory isn't necessarily pastel, but it's not bright primary colors either. IMO, they're more warm, muted tones. Kind of like jewel tones, but not in your face.

That's a good point. Once I pick a logo, my daughter is going to do a watercolor painting and I am going to scan that and use it as a background.

One thing I did think of (although I am in no way a great photographer)-- I have this photo on my homepage of our little gnome door. I thought about making that sweeter--maybe adding a mushroom or something, and ditching the plastic frog--and using that. I could even make that seasonal and take pictures as the year goes on-- snow in winter, etc.

I like the idea, but unfortunately I can't see your link.

Thanks! I'm definitely trying to figure out what it is I like.

I really, really so very much like the idea of working with an image that has meaning like this. And that little door is so darn cute!

Could you take photos and then get a watercolor done of the gnome door scene? Or one for every season?

That's an idea. Somewhere I have Printshop, which had a photo thingie on it that would change images into watercolors. Maybe something like that?

OK, so for now... one image, right? And I could even use that one if I needed to? I am suffering from perfection paralysis right now, where I want everything to be just right... but I was hoping to relaunch everything by the first day of spring.

I love this idea. That's an adorable little gnome door. You could cheat and make some "snow" by putting icecubes in your blender, find some left over leaves from last fall.

Yes, if you are looking for permission, you can use that image right now....you can always do new seasonal ones as the season comes, or have a watercolor or whatever done from it later, while still keeping the same tradmark image, too.

I think the gnome door is BETTER than perfect!

How odd--I clicked on it and couldn't see it either! It's my page!

Try this one.

One last thought coming from the mama brainstorming going on here. I liked that wreath of seasons. What if you made the wreath out of kids handprints and had the colors change as it wraps around symbolizing the seasons of change... you could even make the handprints get bigger, even further symbolizing the seasons of change. Another idea would be to put the sun inside that wreath. Make it all watercolor and just kinda glow from the center and I think it would be fantastic.

As for the knome door. I can modify it into a sketch or artistic effect... those filters again! LOL. Just email me the file... oh, darn, does anyone know how to update an email address?? I guess you have to pm me first. I think it needs to be cropped a bit too. Depending on how the filters look, you might need to reshoot it, but I can give you suggestions on that too. I am fairly certain Magic Cabin sells this or a similar door, so your logo might look very similar to that drawing.

Another suggestion with the door. If you shoot it so that its on a smaller tree trunk it would allow sky above on both sides of the trunk. This would allow you to divide the image into quadrants with the upper right being winter and having snow falling and puddling on the top of the door, the bottom right spring with flowers growing, bottom left summer with ? a summer animal maybe? and upper left fall leaves falling down in the sky portion. This gives you all four seasons in one image.

Just something else to think about. If your logo is a photograph, how will it look when it's printed or resized, ect? A line drawing might be easier to make into an easily recognizable logo.

Ooh, I lost this on my subscriptions but now I found it again. Whoo hoo!

Texmati, good question. I can't really see me going back to a print format again (I do PDF files now). But that's something to think about though...
