Another BFP today! Still light and hard to see for a few minutes, but I'd better not be hallucinating because we already told our parents. I just decided that I was hyper and might as well share the excitement with them right away. My mom really appreciated it, because she never found out about her other grandchildren until after the first trimester.

Thanks! Yes, December 1st! So just barely December. Celebrating...I don't know, everything feels like celebrating right now. : But, if there is celebrating, I suspect it's going to be something to do with food, because I'm HUNGRY.

I'm a little relieved not to have to decide whether or not we should try to avoid Christmas, but at the same time I love Christmastime, so I'll be perfectly happy to get to go all out on decorating early in the month!

Try to hold out! I say that as someone who completely wasn't able to do that and still got rewarded for her impatience, but remember I still didn't get a BFP until I was a day late.

I don't have a lot of knowledge to help with this, but my gut feeling is that you're fine, or at least should give yourself the chance to be fine before going through the stress of all that additional testing. If the same thing happened to your sister, it's probably just a family tendency. The great thing is that you are ovulating now, and you've only had three chances at catching an egg so far. I would think the reason why you weren't ovulating is a moot point unless things don't work out for you now that you are.

I am thinking, well maybe I will try it out on our own, bding, temping, etc and then go get an HSG if it doesn't happen within a year... she said that we have been ttc for over a year now and thus need to get an HSG. We have had CD 3 testing, transvaginal ultrasound, etc and he is supposed to do an Sperm Analysis but since it was me not oing for so long after BCPs we sorta forgot to do the SA. Anyways, I am CD 9 so I am thinking I should call the OB/GYN to schedule the HSG since I know she likes to do it in the FP part of the cycle... but I just feel she wants to diagnose me without really listening to me. Claiming I am infertile because of the non-ovulating for a year... my sister had the same no- oing for a year after stopping BCPs... I am just confused about whether I should continue this Infertility testing or just let it be and BD if I can keep Ovulating. :
Honestly, I would not do the HSG given your individual history. An HSG checks to see if your Fallopian tubes are open, right? Would the answer to that question make you feel better? I don't think that would solve anything for you. Whether or not you are ovulating is the issue for you, and you have confirmed that you are now o'ing. Also, I don't think you have been trying long enough to warrant anymore extensive testing UNLESS you really feel reassured by them and not just the doctor suggesting them. You have only o'd 2 times so far. That is not long enough for you to be considered infertile. You are still in the healthy range because it usually takes a few tries to get pregnant and you have only had 2 tries so far.

Maybe your not o'ing is just simply from the BCP messing with your cycles and it took that long for your body to get back onto track. I don't think anymore tests can answer that for you and I think it is a moot point now since you are o'ing.

I would put any further testing out of my head for now, to me, it is just not the time to do more. And, from your post, I get the impression that you really don't want to and so I don't think you should. Just keep doing what you are doing.

Are we getting close to Christmas/December Holiday Babies? I think if you are o'ing now or in the next couple of weeks it will be close to having a Christmas baby. Oh, what joy! Of course, who wants their baby to share their birthday with a big holiday, but it would be a great present at a special time of year!

Lauren, I agree with the others that an hsg seems a little excessive at this point. If it would make you feel better to have that answer, go for it. But otherwise, I wouldn't. I would maybe consider an SA though, just to rule it out. Its a pretty easy and non-invasive test. Maybe just a little embarassing for dh, lol.

Thanks guys! I think you are all so smart! And so right! I don't want the HSG right now... I kind of want to feel this out on our own- without doctors for the time being... granted I O again!

I think that's a great decision! I had an invasive (not TTC-related, other than making sure I was healthy for it) test done last fall, and while I'm glad to know I don't have any of the things they were ruling out, I'm still annoyed that I got pressured into it and had all the stress and expense and so on from it. Next time someone puts me under, I want them to have a better reason.

awwww I am sorry you dealt with that... it would be covered by insurance but I think I need to just continue to have faith in my body... If I am oing, I have to try while Oing! you know? I don't think it counts as trying when you are not oing or having a cycle of anysort. The doctor kept calling me infertile at my December appt (before my first O after stopping the bcp) and it just made me so sad, I started crying and she almost yelled at me to stop being so "emotional"...

Insurance paid for part of it, but not all. And who wants to have a colonoscopy at our age? : The nurse kept telling me I was too young to be there.

Whoa. Yeah. See, I wouldn't calling trying either. Just the fact that you're ovulating now after a year is like having some fantastic fertility drug work for you. She should be happy for you!

Cloud, thanks

I just need to take a breather, let my body do its job, and figure out later if I need medical help. I want a quick fix, but sometimes, there is no such thing.

congrats cloud

cloud! You must be so ecstatic!!! Congrats congrats.

Lauren: after reading about your latest post, your choice to hold out before hsg testing may be wise. There is a clinical study awhile back at a. Infertility clinic that I took part in, and when I went there to participate (once a week for several months) , just looking at all the people in therefor infertility issues was stressful. I'm not saying that you would have to get that test done at the clinic but my point is that when youstartdown that road it can be very stressful. Each person only has a 25% chance of conceiving each cycle now that you are ovulating even with perfectly timed sex. I know that you probably know that but sometimes it is a helpful reminder when things don't happen rightaway.

ELLESMAMA: hope youget your bfp I know you weresaying earlier that the tww is hard for you

Sorry about all the grammer and mispellings. All. Posts sent from an iPhone whichmakes it hard the keypad is so little!!!!!

You are right... sometimes it feels like everyone gets pregnant right away... My dh always talks about his mom getting pregnant on EVERY type of BC you can imagine.... yay? hahaha

Congrats Cloud!

Still no sign of O or AF. Going to Email my ND tomorrow night if no AF. Looks like I am going to be on progesterone. Last time I took it, I was immediately put on BCPs. Hopefully I can fix this before DH comes home from Iraq.

I hope so too! If nothing else, at least they can start Clomid when he gets back it's tough, esp with a DH deployed. When my hubby was deployed for 15 months to Iraq, I was about 30 lbs lighter and UBER stressed.... I feel for you

My temp dropped quite a bit this morning, but I'm hoping that it's gonna just right back up tomorrow morning. In past months, I have spotted for 2 days before starting, and no spotting nor any AF pain yet. My boobs aren't even sore yet and that ALWAYS happens just before AF arrives. Holding my breath today... :
