All Clad Slow Cooker

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about buying an All Clad Slow Cooker. I don't want too...way too much money. But my current slow cooker is unreliable and of course it has lead in it. I want to find a slow cooker I can use for many years that won't leach lead into my food. I generally use my slow cooker at least 3 times a week and I use it for whole (large) chickens, to render lard, etc. so it has to be at least 6 qt. Best I can tell, for the size I need All Clad are the only ones I can be pretty darn sure (thanks to independent testing) don't contain lead. I would much rather use my oven and a cast iron dutch oven but we rent and our oven is older than I am and a total electricity hog so that's not going to work.

Does anyone have one? Can you tell me about it? Is it reliable? Flexible in terms of temp, etc.? Convince me it's worth the money please

I have one. For me, it's too big. It runs hot.

All Clad is generally a great brand, but their electronic items are made in China. (Their pots & pans are still made in Pennsylvania, though.)

I really wanted to love it. But I don't. Even on 'low', it boils the stews. If I could find the receipt, I'd return it.

Having said all that, it sounds like you might appreciate the large size. All Clad has great return policies. I wouldn't buy one online, but buy one in a store like Williams Sonoma where they'll take it back if you don't love it.
