Yes, it's very 'wet' (phlegmy). But, he's also now getting typical cold symptoms. VERY runny eyes and nose; Sneezing, etc.

I just got the stethoscope out and his lungs sound ok. Right now, it just sounds like an upper respiratory infection.

I haven't eaten anything yet today so I decided to order pizza. Ds refused to go anywhere so that I could pick up something cheaper so I'm glad I actually have cash on hand.
So I'm going to pig out and watch daytime tv. Too bad I don't have any bon bons.

bella, hugs!
batty~hey you! we've been missing you!
saphire, hey there, and yipes!
dok-- hugs... you could make bon bons....

OK-- Craft Store report:

bring back the snakes stuff (sorry, couldnt resist) is 50% off... ds is obsessed with mardi gras style beads, and they had green and gold ones, so he got those.

egg and bunny stuff is 40% off... they have some cute wreaths of just eggs that made me think of you all! they're kinda pricey to begin with, but with the discount, they're about $18.... so, not bad if you'll use it every year!

speaking of, cari... they had craftable plastic eggs, and they had covored them with paper so you could glue stuff on them (like fake flowers and sequins and such)... the paper was like tissue paper... i'm thinking that might work somehow.........???

um, let's see.... oh! yuletide gingerbread house kits (and those tree kits) are on super sale... i got a cute house kit for like $5.

oh, and.... they have bunny gingerbread houses-- ds has been asking for one (he's *obsessed* with gingerbread houses).... so guess what we'll be doing this afternoon?

oh-- one last thing... summer stuff is 30% off.... cute kids gardening things.

ok, now that i've possibly inspired several trips to the craft store, my work here is done..... hope you all have splendid weekends!!!

Aweyn- cute gardening stuff sounds fun. Weather is warmer today but overcast.

I am making a trip to my LYS (local yarn store) to get some great springy zippy colors for making knitted eggs.

subbing, be back later with some vernal equinox ideas that we do

I hope everyone who is sick, or has little ones that are, start feeling better soon!

Bella, I hope you hear from DH. I will be thinking about you.

battymama, welcome back.

Saphire, stinks about PP. I hope they get the bugger!!

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Anyone have any plans? I am getting ready for Spring. Today is so grey outside, looks like rain. I wouldn't mind a nice rain storm!!
Oh my... I posted on page 2 and we're on page 8...

Been sick (still) and didn't read back. Everyone here is down with a nasty virus. And it looks like the cough going on with this virus can go on for weeks after the other symptoms disappear...

Going back to rest... it's our main activity along with coughing these days.
Spring equinox doesn't get any attention... I have no drive to do anything... I'm taking this one day at a time; the day will come anyway... better flow than fight. :

Happy "Pizza Pig Out" day!

I had a credit card stolen once... it was super scary for me, but the company got everything fixed up and back to normal in less than a day. I hope PayPal does the same for you! Right now I'm very annoyed with our bank... they have a mandatory overdraft cover thingie (they cover a bounce, then charge you 30 bucks for the privledge). So our account was pretty low and DH went in with a teller's check and was reassured that our big bills wouldn't bounce/wouldn't need overdraft. And then today we get a letter informing us that all the "little stuff" (like, DH's 1.50 coffee) did in fact bounce so they've charged us over 100 dollars in fees to cover less than 20 dollars worth of "bounce". DH is calling them to complain. We didn't choose this bank (the bank we had got bought out) and they're driving us nuts!

The weather is glorious! Ok, so it's all relative, right? But for me, at this moment, a windy/overcast 50 degrees is glorious. I'm so inspired by your craft store trip... I want little buckets, and ostara baskets, and ribbons! Lots of ribbons and beads and silly spring things!

But I think I'll content myself with trying to knit a set of ostara bunnies for the girls... I have the yarn, an easy looking pattern, and the needles so I think it's do-able. And blowing out enough eggs to make a wreath. I forsee a lot of scramble and quiche this weekend. (though I so totally want pizza right now!)

that. is. just. so. juvenile!
ok, maybe it's cause i'm 49 and BTDT and owned the Tshirt shop. back in like '82 or 3 when i was in this one band, we had this huge birthday party for me-- i think it was my 23rd or so. our guitarist had these polyester pants on, and he thought he'd be funny and cool and light his fart. he bent over the pool table, took out the lighter, blasted away....and his pants fused into one big black shiny polyester sheet! :
that was the last time he tried anything like that

yep. me too. everyone around me at my job was getting pregnant-- all the employees and all the clientele. i had gotten pregnant too, but couldn't keep it at the time-- that was so devastating. i couldn't tell anyone either but my time did come-- i have my wonderful ds to show for it!

I used to paint. Haven't painted in years. I wouldn't say I did it for a living. Although my work was shown/sold in art shows/galleries. Once I moved back from England, I just didn't have the time/money to paint.
Actually, I did try painting a couple of months ago and it was a disaster. So, I'm definitely out of practice.

Oh those eggs sound cute! I don't bother with making my own gingerbread houses, I can get my SIL to make a house and she'll supply us with all the icing etc ready made to decorate it with ourselves! She makes some AWESOME ones I would lurve to hit a craft store today but I'm in recovery from a monster migraine that hit me at 1am and ye gods was it awful.. I feel better now mostly, but I know I cannot go outside in the heat etc or I'll rebound.

OOOHhhh how does one knit an egg? I can do the very basic knit stitch, but haven't learned increasing/decreasing etc yet so I'd obviously have to work on that

saphire, crap about your paypal acct! I hope you shut down the theft before it did too much damage, and that paypal comes to the table to fix it.

We are going to have a mild day today. Yippee!

Not sure if I'm going to go visit my brother (he bought his first house in RI) or if I'm going to stay close to home (ds will be staying home. His father will be coming over to watch him).
Roo fell asleep at 5pm yesterday. I kept expecting him to wake up again but he didn't...Not until 4:30 this morning. He did cough and sniffle a lot during the night so I didn't get a great night sleep. But, I hope he got some healing sleep out of it.

I'm going to start decorating my mantle for spring today. Once it's done, I'll post a pic.

that is hilarious! i bet it melted right to his behind. fire and body parts shouldnt mix but when they do it is great entertainment for those of us who knew better!

Oh my good golly, you guys are talky!

Bella, hugs, - Your time will come, and it will be sweet.

Saphire- that totally sucks, I have been trouble free (knock on wood) with pp and fear this will happen someday!

Weather is gorgeous round these parts. Went to the Irish fest last night and had such a blast. Bought a book called Rowan of the Wood from the authors and wehad them sign it for the kids. Kids were so excited to have that done and it looks like a great book! I will let you all know how it turns out but it starts of with a handfasting in the scottish highlands between a priest and priestess in their 40's who had put off being together to commit themselves to tthe Goddess. I think something happens, the priest gets trapped in a tree or something and a modern day boy is going to release him. Anyway, quite cool.

Working a bit this weekend, also plan on letting my seedlings get some warm sunshine for a few hours and knitting the rest of a little shrug I am working on. Should start some Ostara prezzies as well, but I am only one mama...

Time change tomorrow, grrr, not looking forward to that. Oh well, we are just about ready to make our trek.
We are taking the trip in a couple days. Sun, sun, sun! We are staying at disney for five days and I can't wait.

Not looking forward to that either.
Hope you have a fabulous vacation!

I bought Roo a flowering plant this morning. It came in a green glass square planter. So, he can see the roots/soil. He gave me a big, long hug and said that I'm the best mom ever. (Oh my goddess, I almost cried). Well worth the $15, that was.
Thanks for the hugs guys!

Neighbor: So who's the hottie that comes to visit you every week and parks in front of my house?
Me: My Mom!
Neighbor: Oh....sorry.

Yeah, that was an interesting conversation.

I am talking to DH right now and its so nice to be able to talk to him.

omg neither am i : it's bad enough that we have to manipulate time, but then last year they went and set it back by two extra weeks! as a species, we generally farg with things far too much, IMO. we orta have left well enough alone.

and the good news is........:

Rio passed his belt test today!!! :

in his tradition (Tung Soo Do), you have to earn the white belt, even. so he had been saying and saying he was absolutely not going to test, he didn't know his form, he did not want to do it.
and then we got there, and all of a sudden there he was out in front, testing! WOOHOO! and he passed! where's the proud mama smilie?
