Fleece -- at Joann's

Thread Starter
I was at Joann's picking up some things and saw a print that I had ordered from a WAHM. She made me some fleece longies that work great to keep overnight leaks from happening.

The fleece at Joann's was Blizzard fleece. Is that the same type of fleece that the WAHM might have used? Is it good for longies? I use a Fuzzibunz or Thirsties AIO, but my toddler pees a lot sometimes.

My first thought is to say it's not the same stuff...but I'm not sure. The normal fleece from Joann's is not waterproof. I've actually used it to line pocket diapers when I first started sewing for ds, and it wicks well.

It's possible the wahm treated it in some way, or that somehow the print was used by more than one company to make fabric of different qualities. Does that make sense?

As a general rule, I wouldn't use Joann's fleece to make waterproof covers (or longies). That said, I think that some moms do, and make them waterproof by actually using fabric softener on them. I've never done it, so I'm not sure.

Sorry I can't answer your question better!

I don't very much it is the same fleece most commercially/wahm made covers are made from either Malden mills windpro or windblock. Joanns fleece is not for covers. It's not as dense and it does not maintain it's waterproofness it may just have a water repellant on it
