Beginner Sewer Wool Soaker Attempt

I'm such a dork - I get these grand crafting ideas in my head and they never come out so well. But I've decided that in 2009, I'm going to actually do projects more than once instead of expecting it to be perfect the first time!

That said, I'm attempting to make some wool soakers and longies for my 7 mo DD. We EC and this would make misses a whole lot easier to handle.

I'm wondering, when you make these from old sweaters, how do they stay up? Theoretically, you use the stretchy 'cuff' from the bottom of the sweater, but do they really stay up?

If this goes well, I'm headed from making fitteds from prefolds, which appears to be a bigger challenge.

Thanks for the insight and encouragement!!

SORRY- didn't realize there was a diaper making forum. If I could move it there, I would

I made some longies and wool covers for my ec baby. Super, super easy. But instead of using the sweater bottom I used elastic for the waist. Stays up easier.
Check this site out. It is the pattern I used.

Thanks for the link. I did it! They are the best of the ones I made. She wears them most of the time we're at home now.

Best thing is that my confidence is building!
