An FO: For me!

It's been awhile since I've shared an FO on here. I've blogged this and stuck it on Ravelry but I really love it and want to show it off as many places as I can (read: there will be a repeat post on DiaperSwappers ).

Stats:
Top-Down Timothy Cap
Size 6 needles
Fire Gorge handspun (less than one skein)- sport weight
Yarn held single

LOVE!LOVE!LOVE! I made one for DH out of some other handspun for Christmas and since then have been trying to nab it from him. So glad I decided to make myself one. I was hesitant to use the yarn since I didn't want to "waste" it on a hat but I'm very happy I did. The pattern says to use 8's and hold the yarn double but I missed that the first time around and since I like the fit of DH's hat decided to stick with what I did on his. It fits perfectly as a result!

The "wrong" side...I prefer the wrong side on Dh's but am happy with either or on mine. I just like that it's easier to see the colors on the wrong side since the fabric is smoother overall.
Top o' my noggin' detail

It fits both DD's well too (DD1 is almost 4 and DD2 is 1.5). Both mine and DH's hat fit them actually. The pattern is awesome in that regard. I'm sure it helps that I use thinner yarn and smaller needles. However, DH has a huge noggin (like 24 incher or so ) and my girls definitely do not so that's saying something. :

ETA: I got a pic of it on the girls. Thought I'd show it so you can see.
