Nursing Mamas TTC March - Page 3

Help?

Hi everyone...I'm back, and I'm mystified! I never thought TTC would be so complicated.

I am 24 years old and still nursing my 15 month old...had no prob getting pg with him, in fact I put in nuvaring a couple days late and that's how it happened. I got pp AF at 10 wks pp but was irregular until about Dec 08. I kept track of start days of AF, Dec 11, Jan 6, Feb 1...26 day cycles. so i thought I'd be due for another the end of Feb. Still no AF, that makes me about 6 days late now. I have some preg symptoms, very tired, queasy, frequent urination... I was about 90% sure I was pregnant, but I took a dollar tree test last night and it was completely negative. Thought maybe morning pee would be more effective, I didn't drink much water and used some concentrated morning pee and still negative today! Since my last AF was Feb 1, the test should def read positive by now if I'm preg, right? What are other possibilities for me?? I have no idea when I ovulate, if it is early or late in the cycle...I haven't been seriously charting like many of you. Thanks so much for your help!!

I friend of mine could never get a hpt to show positive. She really thought she was pg, but kept getting neg - she took multiple test. She finally went to the doc because she figured she must have some bug - and she'd had it for 2.5 months. He was did an ultrasound - guess what. She was 3 months pg. Apparently the blood test will show positive sometimes when the urine test won't - if you have wonky hormones - and is cheaper than an ultrasound. Doc did say this is very rare, but it does happen. If I was 4 weeks late and had previously been regular, I'd probably see somebody. If you are not pg, something else might be going on in your body. I thought I was pg a few years back - I wasn't. First the doc thought I had appendicitis (she even placed a call to hospital notifiying them of a potential surgery that night), then 2 cat scans later found I had diverticulitis. It took 6 weeks to get better, I wish I had gone to see her earlier.

Good luck. I hope you are pg.

I hope nobody get's the impression from my previous post that I am a hypochondriac or a worry wort.

On a potentially exciting note - I had a massage yesterday. My massage therapist is very intuitive and KNEW I was pregnant 4 days before I took a hpt with DS. He thinks I'm pg again based on how my body feels (soft muscles were I'm usually tight - just like was before & through the entire pg). I'm only 6 dpo, so I don't want to get to hopeful - but fingers crossed. Now I just have to wait.

lmj928 ~ Just because you were having 26day cycles which is pretty short, doesn't mean this last cycle was also 26days you could have ovulated late and that could be the reason for the --- hpt's. I had a friend whose was like a month late and getting -- hpts and was told the blood test was inconclusive not sure how that could happen though but she has a 4month old now.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to check in and say that I'm still around. I'm on CD8 and trying not to obsess about every little thing this month. I hope we all get our BFP this month!

Oh my goodness I can't believe it I got a just now. I double checked the test to make sure it wasn't the + sign test since it showed up right away. Maybe they mixed up the tests at the factory.

mazel tov on your bfp!!! that is wonderful news!

I am on cd8 waiting to O. I'm charting this cycle (first time charing ever, using fertility friend). SO I guess you can just put me there.

There is a ttc with maca thread. I don't know how to link but you should find it on the first page in a search, it's a pretty active thread. Basically it's a root vegetable, eaten as a staple part of a Peruivan diet, that is supposed to help with conception. I took it part of last cycle and my libedo was through the roof!

So far, I'm not feeling it, but I'm still early in my cycle.I have another issue that I am dealing with which is, as a religious jew, I abstain for about the first 2 weeks of my cycle (depending on several factors). SO tha tmeans if I"m Oing early (this month that would be anywhere before day 14...or maybe 13) we've missed the chance.

So, that's where we are at. But I"m very interested to see how my cycle pans out anyways, now that I'm charting.

Man, is'nt it so fun to look at your chart? I mean, every day I really feel that I've ACCOMPLISHED something!

Congrats ldsmom06!!!

I know I already posted about my temp rise but I can't help but do a little jig every time I think that my body is actually up to something. I think I may have ovulated and maybe we caught it. I did a manual override on FF (first manually overrode the incorrect O day that it previously gave me) to show that I O'd (maybe) 6 days ago. So... I'll see if my suspicions are correct in about a week. I'll be happy with a + or AF.

So glad I can post here. Everyone in my real life would think I'm silly to get excited about a temp change.

Congrats Lds!

Starting to go slightly insane from wanting my body to be fertile again!
EWCM this morning. Maybe I'm ovulating...maybe I'm not. Last month around this time I had tons of EWCM but no AF and no BFP so presumably I didn't ovulate.

Julriv, I totally hear you. The first SIX CYCLES when we were TTC for DS1, I ovulated too early. It only worked out when I started taking some herbal supplement that I forgot the name of (it was an Israeli compound supplement). With DS2 we caught the first PP egg and we're trying to do that again...if that darned egg would only show up!

How many dpo are you?
I am 9/10 dpo tomor and think I will test, but I know its prob too early. Had major cramping and diarrhea this eve, which I had v early with my last pregnancy, as well as increasingly creamy and jelly like cm since O so I am getting v hopeful!!

ldsmom - congrats!:

CD8 for me, so that looks like we are cycle buddies again Veronika and jul511riv
I am just trying to distract myself from the wait until the BDing starts next week. I am trying to think positive this month!

COngrats to Idsmom!!!!!

Well AF arrived Tuesday morning.

Can you move me to Waiting to O? I am on CD 2.

This is so depressing...on to cycle #8 since getting my first pp AF back. It is amazing how nursing affects different women. I am member of small private board and all the women that are still nursing their Feb 07 baby are pg again already...but for me it seems like nursing is the best birth control ever. *sigh*

Sorry for the vent, I am just having a pity party for myself and get sick of people telling me to wean if I want to get pg.

Of course it would probably also help if my son didn't nurse like newborn.

I know how it feels, except I'm only on my second cycle pp. I was beginning to wonder if af would ever return. It's frustrating when your body doesn't do what you want it to.

Congrats lds mama!!!

Still no go here. CM seems to be normalizing, and I think I'll start temping soon. I don't want to spend the $$ on OPKs though to have them be neg all the time, so when did you guys start OPKing regularly? Did you wait for your ppAF to return? Also...where do ya get 'em CHEAP?!?!

TY!

Nursing mamas: do any of you have extremely short cycles? Every nursing mom I know IRL either doesn't have a cycle, has a normal length anovulatory cycle, or a crazy long ovulatory cycle. I am on month four of 10-20 day cycles (more often 10 than 20). I've been blaming it on the fact that we are nursing, but after talking with friends, I'm a bit worried that this isn't a normal nursing thing. Anyone have any advice?

Congrats ldsmom!!! :

jul511riv, there is a blurb about abstaining for religious reasons in TCOYF. She basically says that if you regularly ovulate within the period that you're supposed to be abstaining, you should speak to your rabbi about it and "negotiate" a plan that would help you conceive.

As for me, we were supposed to be avoiding this month, but took a chance with unprotected sex on CD10, and now I think I ovulated on CD14. : Will keep everyone posted...

I only used opks when ppaf returned. I used them for four wks back in Oct just to see if I was O'ing but I was driving myself insane everyday waiting for a positive that wasn't meant to be, not to mention the bother of having to hold my pee for four hours to test! :
As for cycle length, this is only my first cycle, today I am on CD35, I O'd on CD26. A frequent short cycle of 10 days does seem unusual though so it might be worth checking out with your doctor? Maybe others have more advice/experience on this?
As for me 9dpo today and bfn - boo hoo
