Soaker Question: Wool Type

Thread Starter
Hi, Mamas! My friend knits, and wants to know if these are all acceptable for soakers, and what the pros and cons are of each:
(1) Minimally processed wool (w/lanolin in it)
(2) Regular wool available at local chain stores
(3) Superwash

Do some types retain lanolin better than others? Do some felt better? Are there more color options in certain types? Are some easier to work with?

Thank you so very much!

Those are all fine, the minimally procecessed would be best, then the fishermans from a chain store, then superwash(you can't lanolize it very well though)

Superwash won't felt at all, and knits up kinda loose compared with shrinkable wool, so she'll want to use a tighter gauge if she uses it. It does make terriffic easy-care soakers, though!
