Urination & ttc

This is a silly question, but what the heck... normally after sex I urinate since I am prone to UTI's and this helps me avoid them(& other infections). However, when we are ttc I try to hold off urinating after sex as long as possible. Does anyone know if there's a time limit advised? also, is it helpful to stay lying down? or are these just silly things? I mean, I know people get pregnant even if they pee and go about their normal activities after sex. But does it help more if you don't pee and lay down? and if so, for how long? thanks for letting me ask a silly question.

I just read this on another board:
Quote:
There is no need to stay lying down for hours after having sex. Within 15 minutes all the sperm that are going to enter the uterus will have done so. Anything that comes out after that is just semen (not sperm).
But there's no source attributed, it just seems to be written by a mod. I don't know where she learned that.

I also usually hop right up because of UTIs but imagine I'll hang out for a couple minutes when I start TTC (about to go off the pill). I don't want to wait too long as I definitely don't want a UTI, ick! Good luck!
