My Beco Butterfly hurts my back in front carry-suggestions?

I am so disappointed because I really want to love this gorgeous, supportive carrier, and I was planning on beginning to walk for exercise with it. But when I wear it for any length of time my lower back aches and my SI joint issues from pregnancy have even flared a bit after wearing it for a few hours yesterday. I don't think it's just my back as I have no issues with my ring slings. I just like the better head support given in the cuddle hold (which DD loves...she doesn't like a cradle hold in the ring sling).

Do I maybe have it adjusted wrong? Is it better to wear the waist straps lower around hips or higher around waist? My baby is still pretty teeny, probably around 11 lbs at this point. Thanks!!

The straps should *definitely* be around your hips, and tugged snug. You should feel the weight on your hips, not on your shoulders/back.

Have you downloaded the .pdf about the Butterfly?

I think the photo is misleading because the model is wearing a long, blousy shirt and you can't see where her hips are. The straps should go over your hip bones and pulled tight. I hope that helps!
