Are Trader Joe's brand GF products safe?

Do any of you use any of TJ's gf products? They seem to have quite a few and I'm excited at the thought of stocking up on some fun things for DD next time I take a trip to the city. However, last night DD vomited twice during the night (with no warning beforehand) and is totally fine this morning. Sometimes she does this and I've assumed this is one of her reactions to hidden dairy and gluten (esp. since no one else gets sick). To complicate matters, we left the children with grandma overnight Fri/Sat and tho she is really great about everything and I supplied all the meals for everyone, there is a chance that there was some cross-contamination. (She's watched them before with no problems.)
So I'm just wondering if you consider TJ's brand of GF items truly GF or if any of you have had an incident similar to ours and I should be more wary. Of course, I read ingredients (she had two of their GF gingersnaps) and saw nothing to worry about, but I'll get them out and look it over again. (I'm going to feel really bad if it was the gingersnaps, darn it!) Let me know what you think!

I haven't tried any of their GF stuff, so I can't comment on that... but it definitely sounds like a reaction of some sort!

We buy TJ's gluten free stuff all the time and have never had any reactions that I know of - and my boys react behaviorally, so it's pretty easy to tell. Just anecdotal, but it might help.

I'm not sure about the GF stuff but most of Trader Joe's stuff is manufactured on shared lines and most products carry the disclaimer about possible xcontamination. My husband always seems to break out after eating Trader Joe stuff (not hte GF stuff, though). Things like corn chips or even salsa. So he believes all their stuff is xcon.

What do the packages say? I think if its not made in a dedicated GF facility you could possibly experience a reaction.

At our local TJs, one of the women has celiac, and she eats their products. Another of my friends has two kids with celiac and buys some of their products and hasn't had a problem. I can't buy much of their stuff because of other food intolerances. I'm wary of anything that's manufactured on shared lines.

Okay, so I'm finally getting back to this thing! (I've been engrossed finalizing my spring garden order!!!):
Yeah, I know it was a reaction; just not sure if it was Grandma's or the gingersnaps...I was so hoping that their brand would work as they have some brown rice pasta that is 1.99$! I spend 4$ on a pkg of pasta these days and that would've been awesome! I guess I'll have to eat the cookies all by myself... Altho, I'm getting ready to go GF, too...just have to get beyond social eating...

I wonder if you contacted them, they could help you out. I'm pretty sure some of their products are actually "name brand" products packaged under their name.

On the back of their pasta it says,
Quote:
Our vendors follow good manufacturing practices to segregate ingredients to avoid cross contact with allergens.
Some think (just searching around on google) that TJ's pasta is made by Tinkyada in Canada. Just food for thought.

We use their GF pasta all the time, as well as their GF waffles and a couple of other items that I can't think of right now. I've never seen a reaction from them (excepting once when *I* read a package wrong ). DS1 reacts even to distilled white vinegar from wheat, so I don't think that cc is a problem with their gf products.
