For making covers do you ladies use two layers of PUL or one?

What are the benefits of investing in a CD pattern?

One layer of PUL.

I've found purchased patterns to fit a little bit better than the free patterns. But I got a lot of use out of my free mama bird pattern, so really, if you have the money to invest in a pattern, great. They actually aren't that expensive (I think Cuddlebuns might be the most expensive?)

I use one layer PUL.

I've never purchased a pattern. I sort of started with a free one and then gradually modified and modified until I got what I wanted...

You can go to www.verybaby.com and get a great diaper cover pattern there, They are almost identical to the Bummi wraps that you see online

Thanks for your input ladies =) I'm sooo excited to get started!!! I cut out my pattern last night... I just need to decide on what kind of diaper I'm going to make pocket or all in one....

Personally I would stick with a pocket, the Aio's can be a real pain to get clean. Because they have the pul on one side. Plus the dry time is huge by comparison

Def. only one layer of PUL is needed.

I love the Very Baby patterns, and I definitely suggest buying--I learned the hard way that trying to trace and/or design your own takes soo much time and ends up wasting enough fabric that it is always totally worth it to invest the 10 or so dollars and just buy the pattern!

Not to mention that they usually come with great tips and instructions.
