You know the lever with which you lift the foot of the sewing machine? I was just finishing a project, lifted up the lever and was suddenly holding the lever in my hand!? I opened up the machine and there is a bullet like thing which holds the lever in place, which was loose in inside the machine. And on the outside there is a hole, next to where the lever is, which apparently used to have a screw in it but is is now gone. I am really pissed because now I can't sew any more! I am sure I am making no sense whatsoever... Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so, do you know if these screws are available, or are they really hard to find? I have got an old Bernette so I am worried I won't be able to buy the screw anywhere...

I would bring it to the repair shoppe closest to you (or the nearest handy husband/brother/cousin who has time/energy to seek out the right sized screw!), and see what they can do for you. I am pretty sure that they will be able to find a screw that fits! Good luck, and I am sorry that that happened (isn't it always how it works, that it's RIGHT before you're done with a project!).
