What to buy, I'm new!!!

Hello all. I have two children and I'm pregnant with the third. I have clothed before, but didn't start until my second DS was nearly six months old. It was difficult as we bought the plain old prefolds and can't remember the brand but the white covers with velcro. My son has terrible eczema and the velcro really bothered his skin, along with the fact that I wasn't used to the big bulkiness of the diapers. It fizzled out for me. I still have that size (6m and up) in those. So here is the advice I need, I need to know what to buy for my newborn. we fortunately have a shop here in town that sells several brands, even down to under the nile organic cotton diapers.

I just have no clue, do I get the snap closure with inserts, prefolds again, organic cotton diapers with wool covers, etc....I just don't know??? And, unfortunately I have no sewing skills. I tried to get into a sewing class last year and they canceled!! I would love to make these too!

Any tips or advice will be much appreciated.

Personally I think what you choose is going to be a personal choice and what information you receive is just experience or suggestion. That said

if I were buying all over again -- it would be organic prefolds and wool with a natural fibered fitted tossed into the mix. While they work great for many I am not a personal fan of synthetic fibers in a diaper, I prefer natural non man made fibers.

I like the flexibility of having a lot of different choices, prefolds, a few fitteds, some wool covers and even a few pockets. Each diaper combo has its uses and having a lot of options may help you to figure out what works for you.

I am currently cd'ing a nb. I am using fitteds, AIO's and prefolds with wool and pul covers. I have a few pockets too. The AIO's are monkey doodlez nb size. They were great at the very beginning. Now that dd is a little bigger 9lb2oz and having the explosive bf poops they can leak mostly out the front/top if that makes sense. I love the fitteds with the covers this is the best option for us. I have some organic cotton and some velour. I like the velour the best it's very soft. Snaps work well for us. Prefolds are ok occassionally but not my preference for the bulk factor.
