false alarm, my water didnt break

I guess it wasn't my water that broke- I have no idea what it was! It sure felt like a pop and a gush of water to me!

I'm frustrated, but there is nothing I can do.

Doctor did a check and I am so crampy right now because of it I think. I am 1 cem dialated and 50% effaced.

i can't decide if I should sleep, take a hot bath, or walk to try and get things moving. I have no idea....

I thought it was going to be it. I thought he was going to be born today! I thought the cramps meant something! I mean, they do I guess, SOMETHING is going on down there.. hopefully it progresses soon!

IMO, I say take a hot bath and nap. If you are getting too anxious, it could have serious repercussions. Try to relax and not think about it. I know its hard. But this could go on for many days or even weeks. Unless you are sure you are having contractions close together AND not because you aren't hydrated enough or anything, then maybe do some things to get things moving. But, it sounds like your body is in very early stages of preparing...and who knows how that can go.

I know its hard to be patient...btdt. But, things will go better if you rest and forget it all for now...

Ditto. Rest and relax. Baby will come when he/she is ready - walking and trying to hurry labor will just stress you out and make you tired - two things you DON'T need when labor actually starts. BTDT...opt for the bath.

It could have broken & resealed, too. Or baby's head could be blocking it...did you get any indication how far down the baby is?

Mine definitely broke, but I'm not getting anymore right now because the baby is low enough to block it.

ITA, it could have broken and resealed. It happened with my first birth, and I felt like a fool (well, was made to feel like a fool) because the hospital staff told me I must have just peed my pants. I had a high leak that would just come and go...your baby is on it's way soon! Don't let this get you too down. I was depressed and upset when it happened to me and didn't leave the couch for 2 days!

I talked to my doula and she is pretty sure my water DID indeed break.

Doc said I am 1 cem. dilated and 50% ( only??!!) effaced.

I took a hot bath earlier and a nap. I'm about to go for a walk now- not necessarily to get things moving but just to get some fresh air. I have a hard time being cooped up in my house all day long!

Thank you all for helping me as I go through this....

Sounds like labor is starting. Get off the computer and do whatever you can to relax!

Good luck!
