Looks like I'm out

So I just noticed a little bit of brown spotting when I wiped. Needless to say, I am freaking out. Should I chill and not worry unless it turns red? Should I call the doctor's office? I have never seen this OB/Gyn before and my first appointment is not until April, so I feel awkward about it. I hate this! Advice?

ETA: I couldn't reach the doctor, so I took another HPT when I got home. It was negative. I did think it was kind of weird that my nausea had practically disappeared today. The spotting has stopped, but I guess at this point I am just waiting for my period to start. Needless to say, I'm devastated.

Both my sister and I have had this early on - probably implantation bleeding? Brown spotting is old blood, and much better to see (I'm guessing) than fresh red blood.

Needless to say I would still be freaking out a bit. Can you take it as a sign to take it easy today and veg out on the couch? And order pizza for dinner?

I had a similar experience with my first pregnancy. I saw some spotting at 7 weeks, called my new doc, and she was not interested in seeing me. She just prescribed "pelvic rest" over the phone, i.e. no sex, put your feet up and relax, etc. Brown is better than red...it could be just a bit of blood leftover from implantation and is just now working its way out.

BTW, I'm not telling you to not bother calling your doctor. Maybe yours is more empathetic than mine.:

Hope that all is well. Spotting is not at all uncommon but is always unsettling nonetheless.

I don't think you are out. I had some brown spotting with dd1. And at one point during the pregnancy (around 20 weeks) some major red blood. It is scary, and worth checking out. I'm sure everything will be fine with you, even though it is so scary.

Thanks ladies. I'll call the doc, because I think they need to make sure the "products of conception" have been fully expressed or what have you. But I think a negative HPT is pretty definitive at 18 DPO. Good luck to all of you. Hopefully I'll be back for the December DDC.

was it the same test you took the first time?? the first time you took it was it the first urine of the day? when you took your second one when was it? Brown spotting is not a bad thing. every one of my misscarriages started with a clot of blood and lots of cramping. I would stress to much hugs I know how hard it is.
