They said they won't send me a replacement book.

Anyone ever ordered in the 4 for 3 promotion on amazon? I ordered 4 books back in December. I got three of them and was charged for them. The other one they told me they couldn't get anymore. I emailed them and asked if I could get another book in that promotion to replace the book that they couldn't get. They said no that I could not. So the whole promotion is that you order 3 books and get one free and now they wont give me my free book. : Anyone had this trouble? I emailed twice and called once and they pretty much told me tough luck. Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

When you called were you able to speak with a manager? I would maybe try that next. How strange. I would think that a replacement would be the first thing they offered you. I hope it works out.

That sucks. Def try to speak to a manager.

OR, if you charged it, dispute it with your CC company. That's what I would do.

She said she did talk to her manager and he said they would not send a replacement. I'm just about to give up on it. I'm amazed that they would alienate a customer over a $8 book.

Oh that sucks. It does seem really weird that they would be like this.

Well, it's good to know that you can't count on them to honor their promotions. I'll keep that in mind in the future if/when I order something from them. :

I would check with the laws in the US (assuming it's Amazon.com here and not .ca) because they might be on your side. Here in Canada they would have to honour the 1 free deal or get reported and face the consequences. It's illegal to offer a special offer if they can't fulfill it and won't find a way to fulfill it.

Also I would call back and ask to speak to the manager myself, that "I spoke with the manager and he said..." crap wouldn't fly with my in this situation.

I'm in the US. Do you know who I would report it to here?

I had a bad experience years ago with Amazon, when I never got an order but they said they delivered it. No one had signed for it or anything, they just said their computer records showed delivery.

I don't know what happened to it, and they had no interest in keeping me happy at all. I haven't ordered from them since. Once in a while I'm tempted, but then I remember...

That sucks, but you probably aren't going to get your book. : Amazon is awesome most of the time (I order from them a lot), but if there is a problem and you have to use customer service, then heaven help you. Seriously. They have the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I ordered something once that never came. I called and called and they said it had been shipped. I couldn't get them to do anything about it. Finally I had to order it from somewhere else (it was something I needed), and they wouldn't refund my money because they said I had to return the product in order to get my money back. : I do still order from them because that was only one bad experience in years of excellent experiences with them. I usually get my stuff really fast. I won't be as forgiving if it happens again though. Sorry for your experience.
