Blood Pressure meds while BFing?

Can anyone tell me the names of medications you may take for high blood pressure while you are breastfeeding?

I take methyldopa (Aldomet) and have since I was ttc. My baby is now almost 15 months old. The methyldopa isn't working very well for me, and I'd like to know the names of some other medications to bring to my doctor's attention next time I see her. She is astounded that I plan on breastfeeding until *at least* two and doesn't seem to have any other options to offer me. I took another old-order bp med for a while before starting the Aldomet and it made my head itch so much I had to stop taking it. I know there are lots more drugs that are okay while nursing, though, that weren't necessarily okay while pregnant.

Suggestions? Thanks so much. I'd love to be able to tell her the names of several different bp meds that are safe while bf'ing so she can help me find a safe one for me.

I take nifedipine/Procardia for Raynaud's phenomenon. I know it's also used for blood pressure and is safe for BF.

I took metoprolol, I had to take it right after the birth because of some heart stuff that was going on, for about 4 months. It lowers blood pressure and is used for other stuff. Don't know if that helps.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I have them on my list for the next time I see her.

ETA: I just found this website that lists several medications for blood pressure and their lactation ratings. (L1-L5): http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/...-meds.html#toc
