Tips for writing with a partner?

Anyone co-authored anything? My sister and I are planning to write a musical together (based on the book of Esther) for Script Frenzy. It's mostly for fun, so it doesn't technically 'matter' if it's rubbish: but naturally, we'd like it to be good! Unfortunately she lives in another city and meeting up during the writing process will be difficult. Most of our communication will have to be online.

Any tips for writing efficiently, divvying up tasks, not disowning each other in the process..?

I always wondered how it works. I have no tips, as I think I would not be able to do it. :

Awesome!! I do Script Frenzy too!

My husband and I want to write a book together eventually and thought about each takng a part of research, then divvying up characters and writing the backstorys. Then we will come together, write an outline (dh is an outline guy...index cards and all).

After that...we're not sure. With a script it could be easier- maybe split up the characters or scenes?
