I finally found something that works!!

I think I have tried almost everything over the past couple of pregnancies to deal with m/s. And I finally found my magic bullet.
Oh Ginger Tea! Oh how I love thee,
Oh Ginger Tea!
I will drink you morning, noon and night,
Crackers beside the bed, do not work like your might
Oh Ginger Tea, Oh Ginger Tea

Yes, it works, but is it contraindicated in pregnancy? I had GT during both of my pregnancies, and it works, my friend stopped doing ginger because it supposedly causes cx. Check into it. I know in Western Herbalism, wild ginger is used to cause cx, and to bring on late af. Wild ginger is completely different though, much stronger.

don't tell me that... I have problems with early cx and early labor. Does that mean I shouldn't take it... off to do some research.

Yes, sorry to bring that up. I just care I am also paranoid, so take what I say with a grain. Definitely do research though

well i can't find anything that is saying that it causes early cx for regular ginger... off to see if it says something about it in regards with wild ginger.

Finally found something negative... "Some studies indicate that ginger taken in high amounts might cause miscarriages" and that is it. So I'm not so worried anymore.

Ok, sorry to cause stress, I just care

So the conclusion is that a cup or two of ginger tea per day is ok? Do you put honey or sugar in it?

I'm making a pot of tea with one tea bag for the entire day. I just drink it plain but I love the taste of ginger.

Oh I'm jealous. I love ginger, and during our nasty stomach bug, it did a lot for me.

I'll have to get some ginger tea.

I'm pretty well-versed on herbalism, and the conclusion is that 1-2 cups of ginger tea a day is fine, which equals just a gram or two.

The Chinese use 28 grams of ginger or more to induce miscarriages, so that is where the warning comes from.

So as long as it is only a few cups a day, you're fine.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You have saved me! I'm not going to worry any more. I need my ginger tea to get through the day.

Have you heard of RRT helping to prevent nausea? I've been drinking a cup per night and just wondering if it's helping. TIA!

I will tell you what I finally found that worked for me last time...
accupuncture and swimming.

Saved my life!!

Uh-oh

Oh man, I just bought some candied ginger from Trader Joe's and have been eating it like crazy : I hope it doesn't cause any problems...

For nausea (constant) with DD, I am remembering, I used homeopathic Ipecac, I would lay down with a pill under my tongue, and by the time it dissolved, I would be ok enough to keep going for a bit longer.

as far as ginger root goes...
i like just pealing the top layer off (doesn't have to be all of just mostly off), cutting into large chunks, letting it boil in water.... then pouring the liquid into a mug (add some raw honey in the mug yummmm).
add more water to sauce pan with same chunks left over and repeat (you can do that a bunch, the 2nd and 3rd seem to be the best)
i'm kind of obsessed with it.... i hope i'm not drinking toooo much!

I've been taking homeopathic sepia this time around and the difference is amazing! I was seeing a homeopath for some different things so she gave me a remedy for my nausea too. I've been a lot less tired too which is so great with a little one to take care of.
