BFing woman ticketed -- anyone aware of this???

Thread Starter
I saw a news clip about a woman who was given a ticket for breastfeeding. I can't find it ANYWHERE!!! I saw it on my local news (San Antonio, TX) when I was watching a program dh and I recorded from Sunday night.

Can anyone help? I suck at searching, apparently.

Also, I don't know if this was from the woman who was driving while nursing because I can't find it!!

My FIL's girlfriend was ticketed for breastfeeding while driving 30 or so years ago. This was not anything recent. I've got to say I side with the officer on that one. The ticket was something like "Driving while distracted"

:

This struck me funny that you "suck" at researching a story about breastfeeding. It doesn't take much to amuse me...

Here's a link for ya.

This thread will be pulled because we're not allowed to talk about news. The woman was given a ticket for breastfeeding her infant in her lap WHILE driving and, I think, doing something else at the same time as well.

What bothers me about it is that she uses some standard lactivist language to defend what she did - i.e., that she'll breastfeed her child wherever & whenever the baby is hungry. However, breastfeeding an infant in your lap while driving is indefensible. I personally think it hurts lactivism.

And now I'll stop because the thread is going to have a short lifespan!

This just goes to show you that being a breastfeeding mother does NOT automatically mean that you always make good choices.

I'm going to go ahead and close this because it's not in keeping with the new rules since we closed down N&CE. I'm really sorry, mamas.

We will allow members to discuss news items in appropriate parenting forums such as breastfeeding items in lactivism, birth related items in the birth forums or chickenpox outbreaks in Health & Healing. However, keep in mind that threads still need to remain on-topic for the forum and should not be about individuals but about the general topic.
However, if someone wanted to start a thread about people co-opting Lactivist language and making poor choices and then crying Lactivist and maybe use this incident as one of several examples, that would be within the scope of this forum.
