i was shocked at what they said. we did the 50 food panel. nothing came up red. only vanilla came up orange. yellow was corn, cottonseed, garlic, grape, green pea, lamb, mustard, string bean, sweet potato and wheat. no reaction to casien, gluten or gliadin.

vanilla was never on my radar and will immediatly be pulled from our diets. i'm completely shocked that dairy didn't come up at all. i'm still not going to give her much. i did by plain yogurt to test later this week. most of the yellow foods are things we eat almost daily. i plan on avoiding everything that didn't come up green until her rash clears up.

next up to DS who still has the grunting tic from Saturday.

I'll be interested to see how your trials go. Good luck.

how long have you been avoiding the foods that you've been avoiding? Remember that they said if you haven't had the food in 6 months, it's not accurate (though my DS hadn't had milk for 14 months and it still came up severe). I did the 50 food panel for DS too and he came up with so many yellows (and not enough greens) that I called back and ordered 100 more foods (they didn't charge me to re-do the first 50) and then they combined the results so that it was all on one chart (and I got the rotation diet to go with it). Some weird stuff came up on his, like eggs, which he ate almost every day, but when I took all those foods out, boy did it make a difference!

i've only been avoiding dairy and soy for the last month or so. i know some hidden dairy has slipped through so she was definitely exposed to it. i still plan on being dairy free mostly because i react to it but i'll try the yogurt this weekend to see what happens. most of the yellow foods we ate daily. corn is going to be tricky but i think i can do it.

If you didn't get yourself tested, then yes, she can be reacting to your reactions if you can't process it, from what I understand.

Corn is the trickiest, I think, because it's not a "top 8" allergen so they don't have to tell you their sources, it's in everything, it's got so many different names, and even the companies have no idea of their sources sometimes. But two of my kids are corn-free, so it's definitely do-able (and corn didn't show up on either of their ALCAT tests, and corn is the worst offender for DD2, so go figure).
