DD has had some strange poop, and I am wondering if it is allergy related or yeast related. Her poop is "sandy" looking to me. It's kind of grainy, and is harder to wipe off. I talked to peds about it before, but it went away, so we didn't pursue it any further. At the time, he mentioned Celiacs disease, and said that in some cases it can present with constipation (a big issue for DD) instead of diarrhea. He also said that since she was growing well, he was unconcerned - we could do a test, but it is not that accurate w/out a biopsy. They did take a stool sample and look for blood (found none) but b/c it was so firm they couldn't run any other tests on it.
So now here we are again a few months later. Weird, sandy looking, very stinky poop. Right now she is taking Nystatin for thrush and a vaginal yeast infection, so I am wondering... could this just be yeast die-off? She struggles with yeast a lot (b/c of daily abx), so it might make sense. I just don't know enough to figure it out.
:
Any suggest? Do you think it might be yeast related, or should we be looking in another direction? What would your course of action (if any) be?
