A Nasty Ink Stain...On My Favorite Pants...

Thread Starter
So my DH left a pen in his pocket before I did laundry, and I missed it as I was sorting clothes...so now I have a whole load that has been washed and dried and is spotted in blue ink from a gel pen. Do any of you resourceful and clever mama's have a trick to get ink of off these clothes?
They were my only 2 pairs of maternity pants that fit good :

So any suggestions welcome!! TY!

I've fairly successfully removed a heavy large sized ink blot from a pair of pants using methalated spirits. It took ages as so much ink keep bleeding out, but eventually after changing and changing the solution it came clear. Not too sure what a gel pen is, but ours was normal biro/ballpoint ink.

I had a recent ink stain on a fave dress of DD's (it hadn't been through the dryer though) and I got it out by dabbing from the back with rubbing alcohol over a washcloth -- as the cloth picked up the ink I kept moving to a clean spot. It all came out pretty quickly.

good luck!!

If it won't come out, dye the pants the same color.

Have you tried one of those little pens? I think mine is Tide. I use it rarely, but it did lighten a sharpie mark on my dd's new Hanna pants. Not sure if it will help if the garments have been through the dryer, though.

I think I've gotten one out of DH's with hairspray.
