Vitex and IVF?

Last month I started taking Vitex because I thought we were going to be doing IUIs. Now it appears we are going to start IVF treatment in a few months. I'm just about out of Vitex. Do I buy more, knowing that the doctors are going to shut down my cycle and restart it? Is it worth buying them, or should I just take maca/prenatals/b complex? I know I shouldn't take vitex during treatment.

If it is worth taking them now, why?

I'd say that's a personal decision. If you still have the dream/hope of conceiving between now and when you start ivf, then go ahead and keep it up. If there's no hope, for whatever physical reasons led you to ivf, then I don't know if I see a purpose. And yes, you are definately NOT supposed to take them during treatment, and I'm not even sure if maca is acceptable. I think they worry about overstimming since the herbals are not as well regulated as all the drugs they'll be giving you. Good luck!

I'll be doing IVF because my partner is female and I want to be able to donate some of my eggs during the process. I didn't know they would recommend not taking maca. I think it has some benefits even beforehand, like improving egg quality. I'll ask the RE though. I'm already worried about overstimming so I don't want to push it too much.

I could be completely off on the maca, but I do think it's worth asking. Good luck!
