Hi all!!! Sorry I'm just now updating...but it's been a hectic week! Alexander is here!!!!! He is so incredibly beautiful...and I am beyond in love with him! He was born 6/29 at 10:34 p.m...21 inches...and weighs in at a whopping 9 lbs 12 oz!!!!
Short and sweet birth story is that I began having contractions Sunday. By evening they were pretty strong and frequent...and we were off to the hospital. My contractions were progressing really nicely...but I was still only 1cm and the big guy was still not engaged. My water broke about 2 a.m....so I knew Monday was the day! Contractions got progressively worse...but still not much cervical progress. I labored ALL DAY....till 9 p.m....and was only 4cm and Alex was still really high up...hadn't moved down at all. At this point...his heart rate was starting to show signs of stress at my contractions and they were about a minute apart. My DR was so incredibly supportive all day...and never ever mentioned the "c-word"...until that moment. I was absolutely terrified...for him...for me...but I wouldn't allow myself to get caught up in "how" he was born. He needed to be born right then and there...and that was it. So, I just had to accept what we needed to do. Well...I can't regret it for a second. He is perfect...healthy...and made it into this world the way he was supposed to. So, that's that! Recovery is tough. Physically mostly...but we're getting there. DP is picking up the slack beautifully as I am still very limited. But, each day gets better and I'm getting around more. We are all physically exhausted from this type of recovery. But...I honestly can't complain...my son is here...and I get to look into those beautiful eyes every day and fall more and more in love.

Well...he's about ready to chow down...gotta run! Hope everyone is doing well.
Carmen...I had tons of sharp shooting pains just above the pubic area my entire pregnancy. I was told it was just all the ligaments stretching and it was nothing to worry about. Not sure if it's round ligament specifically...but there are a lot of other muscles and ligaments right around your uterus there that will definitely be painful as your uterus gets heavier and bigger.
