What might this entail?

I am returning to work soon, and am job searching. I found a position for Executive Assistant within the main offices of a medical group. The only description is that the person provides assistance to executive staff.

What might this entail within a medical office setting? Does anyone have any experience? Is it so involved that it would take time away from my family? Or would it be a fairly regular schedule?

Thanks!! :

I picture it an office/clerical type job that's probably regular hours. GL!

You don't happen to be in Los Angeles, do you? I know our office (corporate headquarters of a non-profit healthcare provider) is hiring an Executive Assistant. ;-) That position is assistant to the CEO, so heavy scheduling, gatekeeping, phones, preparation of memos, letters, and other documents, filing, pulling files, keeping track of every solitary thing (yay micromanagement) and somehow not bursting into tears when you get yelled at because you're available when something goes to heck.

See if you can find out who the position is assisting. If you're not assisting an MD, chances are it will be heavily administrative with no clinical knowledge required.

Thanks for the help! I'm not in L.A. I think the position will just be working with the executive staff and not directly with the MDs. Thanks again!
