Bloody Show Question.

How long after you get your bloody show do you typicaly go into labor?

Yesterday I started getting big strings of mucus with blood and today there is even more. I have never noticed with my other pregnancys the loss of my mucus plug or bloody show so I was wanting a base line.

I'm not really sure. I didn't notice it with my first two, but with this one I had bloody show a couple of hours before she was born-right about the time that contractions really started happenning. I'm pretty sure it varies, though.

I've never had blood show unless it was the REAL thing. I only saw it in labor with my first two and about 36 hours before #3 was born.

Once I see bloody show, I know I have about a 2-3 day window.

For this baby, lost my mucus plug adn had a little "show" on Valentine's Day. Had baby this morning. 2-3 weeks is what the last 3 have been.

I had a show and lost a chunk of the plug last week. Still zip : I got all excited but nothing concrete so far.

I had bloody show yesterday, tons of regular contractions, lost my plug...and today: NADA!

I don't remember seeing any bloody show with my first two so I just wanted to say "Hugs. We are going through the same thing today!"

I had show a day after my OB stripped my membranes (with my permission) at 39 weeks with DD. She was born the day after that- so between 24-48 hrs later.

With DS I had *nothing* until I was around 9-10 cm. Nothing at all, and I was really watching for something since I knew he would be born soon. (I called my mom who lives out ouf state and told her to come two days before!)

They were both born just after 39 weeks, but SO different.

For me it's right away...with dd I had bloody show and labor started within an hour and with ds I had bloody show with the first real ctx...they never stopped.

It's usually two to three weeks for me. IT so much depends on the mama and how fast things go for them. I also usually spend the last month dilated to a 4cm, so it's typical to lose a plug early with that kind of dilation.

I wonder what my show was from then...I was dilated to a 3 at 36 weeks and a 4 at 37 weeks...but still had a bloody show with the first contraction(when I had all ready been at a 5 for a week). I'm really curious to know if anybody knows...

Blood means baby is on the move.

With ds1, I noticed it just as my water broke...I thankfully happened to be sitting on the toilet when it broke

This time around, it happened about 1.5 hours before I started timing contractions/7 hours before he was born.

Based on everyone's replies so far, looks like it's not a good indicator of when things will happen.
