Studies on circ and breastfeeding

I was wondering if anyone was aware of any studies on how circ can impact breastfeeding, even just something comparing breastfeeding rates of circ'ed vs. intact infants?

I think there were some in the internet resources link that went *poof*, maybe if someone pms me all the links I can forward them on?

I worked as a breastfeeding counselor for years with a non-profit group. I can say that sadly circumcision hinder and often destroys breastfeeding relationships quite frequently. With lasting effects for both mother and baby.

Do a google search. There is definitely information too out there, and old editions of the womanly art also discussed it in detail.

Yeah that was my experience as a breastfeeding counsellor too. I just can't find any studies on it.

Cirp.org and circumstitions.com has some resources about it. There is even a brochure about it. Does someone have the links?

Isn't it amazing that LLL refuses to take a position on the subject?

I know that LLL site has an article about it but a RL LLL consultant hesitate to take a stance (if any at all) about this issue. Makes me a bit angry and sad at the same time

The Woman Art of Breastfeeding used to have a section discussing circumcision and other elective surgeries, but no longer do, in part because of the religious aspect of circumcision, and the fact that it is considered mixing causes. But Leaders can still talk about the impact that surgeries, such as circumcision, might have on the breastfeeding relationship; and the topic might come up during a meeting.

NoCirc had a booth at one of the No CA LLL conferences that I attended, and I some of the more controversial things may be discussed there, so it is in a way confusing, but I think it's just they want to be a single purpose organization while at the same time providing sessions about the topics that the attendees would want to have.
