I like and have re-read Elizabeth Peter's novels- Amelia Peabody series- the Vicki Bliss series to and several of her stand alone novels
Dorthy Gillman - Mrs Polifax series
I have read tons of books- non-fiction I have read many auto-biographies/biographies of old Doctors and a few midwife ones as well- Ben Keene was probably the most modern most of the ones I have read were published 1930 and before- Doctor- Here is Your Hat, Dr Joseph A Jerger, Prentice Hall 1939- dr Jerger talks about the old doc he worked with and then took over from as well as info about his life as a doc- the change from doing births at home to moving moms to a hospital are discussed in this book

I just read The Birth House and really enjoyed it.

I'm reading The Monsters of Templeton right now and it's pretty good, but a bit confusing!!
