Shaking???

I just did a google search and didn't come up with much so thought I would seek the wisdom of this group and my MW of course (just waiting to hear something)

About an hour ago I started shaking...like when you are cold, but I'm not cold. I have eaten well today so I don't think it is low blood sugar.

Last night I kept dreaming that I was in labor and waking up with cramps. I am having more painful cramps now and shaking all over. Any ideas? Is shaking a sign that I might be going into labor? I don't have any othe symptoms (no show, no contractions that I know of, no loss of waters)...just a little nausea, shaking and cramping. Other than that I feel fine.

hmmm. For me, I didn't start shaking and getting nauseas until well into active labor. But, who knows? If you're sure you ate recently and enough calories, and are well hydrated, could you be sick? A virus? Or maybe this is just labor starting for YOU. Let us know what your mw says, too. Hope you feel better, I hated that feeling.

I'm with the pp...once I was in active labor I was nauseous and shaking...though I was a bit nauseous feeling right before contractions started. Are you having cramps still?? Like menstrual cramps? If so those can be labor contractions...in fact that's all I ever felt in labor...how far apart are they and how long are they lasting? If they aren't regular or are more abdominal/intestinal cramping than the only other thing I would think is a possible stomach bug.

How are you feeling today? What did your MW say?

My midwife said that it could be the flu or low blood sugar...but I feel fine today, a little tired, but fine. I am just leaving it up to one of those weird things the body might do during pregnancy.

Thanks for asking!

Darn - I was rooting for an update of, "I'm in transition and didn't even feel a contraction!"

I'm glad you're feeling better.

It could have been high blood sugar too. I am GD with this pregnancy and when my blood sugar gets high I get all shaky just like I do with my blood sugar getting too low. I probably wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.

I'm experiencing the same thing. I also woke up twice last night with horrible night sweats. There's no fever or anything like that go along with it. I'm wondering if it's a shift in hormones or a sign of impending labor?? (wishful thinking of course)
