P4 and Clomid

I did 50mg of Clomid this month 5-9. My doc told me to take OPKs and when I got a positive one to come in seven days later to get my P4 checked. I never got a positive one. I have been charting though and I either O'd on Sunday or am about to today/tomorrow(its my first month, very confused) So I am wondering if I should just go in on Monday for the P4 or if I should wait a couple more days? If I go in after 7 days will the test still be accurate? Thanks ladies!

Hi ~ Sorry to post late. But I would go in 7 days after my ovulation. I would o by a trigger shot for iui since clomid did not cause me to o.

It kind of sounds like you may not of ovulated. From your charting did you track an o date? If so I would just go in 7 days from that. Otherwise just let your doc know and he will still want to check your progesterone to see if you did or did not o. Good luck.

(But seeing that the clomid was take cd 5-9 maybe you o'd later that usual, what cd are you?)

Thanks for the response, its ok that its late. My chart is in my siggy, I am pretty sure I O'd on CD18, I am on cd 22 now. I never did get a pos OPK but I was using cheapies so maybe they just werent very good. I am going to go in Wednesday morning for the P4 to find out if I really did O. I figure thats the most reliable way to find out if I did.

Penguin - Your plan sounds good. I noted that you have PCOS, as do I. I was told that opk tests are less reliable for anyone with PCOS. You can ask the clinic if they recommend a certain brand, I know they did for me when I was on clomid. Good luck!
