Ok check this first for the story...

And now if y'all could share your ideas for getting the smell out of her hair (it REEKS of burned fur) and out of the house I'd greatly appreciate it. I washed her hair, got out all the burnt chunks, and used some tea tree EO to try and 'cut' the smell. Still there. Strong. If TTO won't cut through it, what will??

And for the house...It's too chilly to open windows. : And it's a really intense smell.

Ideas welcome

THANK YOU!

oh gosh! your poor DD! My first choice would be to air out the house. Barring that, I'd turn on the exhaust in the kitchen, and vaccum and launder any huge smell catchers that could be laundered (comforters, sheets, ect).

I don't know what to do about your dd though!

s to your dd. I'm glad everyone is ok!

I've read that heating coffee grounds on the stove can remove just about any bad odor, but I've never tried it.

Maybe a baking soda wash with a vinegar rinse (for the hair)? Watch the eyes if you try this though; the vinegar can really, really sting (speaking from personal experience)!

I would try using a stronger soap on it. I've used dishsoap or handsoap to get cooking oil out of my hair. I'd comb it out really well so all the tangles are out, then add the soap and some water and comb it through so the soap is coating every single strand. Then rinse and condition really well.
