Losing mucus plug, H just diagnosed with the flu. WWYD?

I am sort of freaking out, honestly, and it's very hard for me to tell if I am being rationally concerned or not.

Obviously, I could go another week or two or three (I am 37 weeks, 1 day, my first son was born at 37 on the dot). I am crampy and losing teeny bits of plug right now. H was just at the doctor and confirmed he has Type A flu.

So...........what precautions would you take now, and IF you went into labor, WWYD about Senor Sicko being present?

Thanks.

Just remember there is a good chance that nothing will happen just yet, focus on staying healthy. Take lots of echinacea and rest up if you can. All you can do it help your dh to get better and hope for the best. Do you have someone on standby in case he can't be there? Is a doula an option?

Hope your dh is better soon.

I agree with hedewitch.
If you even hold out a few more days, imagine the difference that would make in your dh. A few days makes a world of difference when you're sick. He could be over the worst of it and probably will be. Obviously I know you can't control that, but hopefully your babe will just wait a little longer, even if only a few days!

I would sleep in separate rooms, if possible, until he is over it. Make sure you don't share food or drinks, don't kiss, etc. I know it's easier said than done. Wash your hands a LOT, and have him do the same. It's really hard not to catch illness from other people you live with. Other than that, both of you should take your vitamins, extra vit C, and drink lots of water.

I wouldn't let him cough or sneeze on me, and I'd make him wash his hands. that's about it. But I think we'd do that anyway.

Take vitamin C, and know that newborns don't get the flu, esp if breastfeeding.

All precautions are really for YOU.

yeah to everything mentioned. rest, take care of you, and let him take care too so y'all are ready when things do pick up.

Well I think I'd pretty much quarantine dh until he's not contagious any more. You really don't want to go into labor while sick with the flu. I'm 37.5 weeks and my family is slowly getting over what I think is the flu. I'm kind of hoping my body will know not to go into labor while I'm sick. But at least if you do get sick you'll be passing the antibodies on to your baby (if you're breastfeeding of course).

Ditto on the handwashing. That is the single most effective way of preventing transmission. And lots of wiping surfaces down with a disinfectant solution (we use TTO)

Luckyly I haven't lsot the plug yet so I might have time to get sick and get well (I hope). I'm 38 weeks +2dys and sore throught (that how it started with him 2 days ago, now he has muscle pains so it could be infleunza A). I just dont want to get sick.
