So who will be planning a homebirth?

This will be our second homebirth (DS was born at a birth center) both kids were with the same midwife.

I'm very much looking forward to it... well, except for the pushing part :

I am! I'm really excited about it. With my DS, I gave into an induction against my better judgement. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it was also far from ideal. But I've lived and learned. Now I'm just going to stay as far away from hospitals and OBs as I can.

Me too! : Though, right now I'm working on figuring out where (as in which country) to birth. I'm leaning towards staying put here in TX, but I had travel plans to be in N. Africa at that time. So, we'll see if I make it and how I feel closer to then.

DD was a hospital induction turned c/s, so I also want to stay as far away from hospitals as possible!!!

We are! First baby. Will be interviewing midwives soon. I've always believed in out of hospital birth (my sister and I were both born at home) but for DH it took a little coaxing (OK, ranting and nagging), BOBB, and watching how my sister and her son werehorribly mistreated at her hospital birth.

We are.

We had a homebirth with our last baby, and our first was a hospital transfer from a FSBC. Homebirth definitely fits our family. We'll be using the same midwife, and the doula I had last time is now one of her apprentices.

That's us... UC though hopefully I can talk our midwife into being my back up. I think she'll be cool she UC'ed herself.

We will be too. DS was a c-section after failed induction, DD#1 was a hospital transport because I started pushing before the mw got there and DH panicked (oops), DD#2 was my first homebirth.

I just found out my preferred mw (the one who was there at DD#2 birth) is moving in September <sob>...I like the other mw's in the practice well enough but she was my favorite!

We're interviewing a homebirth midwife Tuesday.

I really like my care providers with Carter, and am still strongly considering them. I had a wonderful natural hospital birth. I did whatever I pleased, left a little less than 24 hours after his birth. I'm not sure I will accomplish much by changing.

We're planning on using the birthing center. To me, it seems like a homebirth, but in a home that someone else is responsible for having pristine before I go into labor I think it would be just my luck that I'd go into labor after making a huge batch of cookies with the kids, and then I'd be sweating the mess in the kitchen, and then the puppy will have managed to get a roll of toilet paper, and run it through the house half-chewed up. Plus, they have bigger tubs at the center.

We're planning a homebirth with our first--I've known I wanted to avoid the hospital for giving birth since I was a teenager. We already have a mw lined up (for a pregnancy that I lost a year ago). Really excited about hb!

This will be our first homebirth. I really wanted one last time, but dh was iffy. After the hospital called CPS on us, he's more than ready to go the homebirth route this time. :

I'm planning a homebirth. This will be my first time ever to not do a pregnancy/birth through a doctor, in a hospital and drugged. Several of my close friends have done it and I was there to witness one on Thanksgiving day, and I would love to experience that for myself. This will be our last and I want a totally different experience. (even though I realize I'll be feeling the pain!)

My first MW appt is tomorrow morning.
